Just watched a team (Oregon I think) loose an opportunity to tie or win the game to get to Williamsport because of their head coach. Oregon had a kid make it to third on a second out play, then during a little confusion, and time was never called, the coach patted his player at third on his back and told him to go home. Runner was safe at home but then was called out by third base ump. Coach cannot touch his player to help him advance to a base. Game over. Felt bad for the kids.

Bowling Green (KY) came back from 3-0 down in the bottom of the 6th to beat Hamilton (OH) 4-3 on a walk off BB. Led off the inning with a solo shot to left center, then a base hit. Followed with a fielders choice a couple of walks a wild pitch and an infield hit to win.

Hamilton pitcher melted down when a close pitch was called ball 4 to put the tying run on base. If he had been that demonstrative at any other level of baseball he would have been tossed out of the game.

Bowling Green now plays Wisconsin in the finals of the regional...Wisconsin beat them 10-0 I think last game.

I can't stand to watch the ineptness of most of the home plate umpires. And it's been going on for years.

Strike zone has been bigger this year than I can remember in many years of watching these games. Pitching has also been the worst that I have seen as a whole, just about every inning a pitch goes to the backstop or pulls the catcher completely out of the box to catch it.

I think it's about the same as in the past. If umps tighten up the zone that 6 inning game could take hours. I agree with you that the pitching seems a little ragged as a whole. Also could be kids trying to throw curves, sliders, circle changeups, etc., that really have no business throwing them.
