I agree about Dalton

Belfry's defense was ON POINT once they became healthy in November and they shut down some very talented offensive players. Dalton though got his and was the most dynamic skill player on the field.

I actually think Lawrence sandbagged with Dalton a little last year until they played Belfry and spent most of their season trying to define themselves as a running team. LC has a very good QB in Kiser but their fortunes rest on how many ways they can get the ball in Dalton's hands.

Russell is going to be a very fine team. I agree it will be a tough go having Belfry in their region...but the Devils may be one of the very few 3A teams who can actually match up with the size Belfry brings. The key will neutralizing that monster Horton if the two teams match up. Horton disrupted the Devils line to a degree I am not sure has ever happened in that program's proud history.... If I know Maynard though he is reminding his guys on the Line of that every week.

I know how to neutralize Horton. It's easy. Run everything as far away from him as possible and hope for the best. But, then there's Bentley. And then Sanger. And then....:isurrender:

In all seriousness though, I think the Devils have the size and strength to hold their own in the trenches. They need to develop more team speed on defense(i.e., play with confidence, read the offense, react, fly to the football) and continue to develop the passing game. Russell should have a really nice collection of pass catchers this year. I just hope that McKee, with another off-season learning the spread, can get the ball to them.

Barring any major upsets, I think Russell and Lawrence Co. are headed toward an inevitable showdown in Flatwoods in the second round. Winner gets Belfry. Yay.

"This year’s product should again put smiles on the faces of faces in Campbell Stadium. Corbin returns six starters on both sides of the ball."

Corbin doesn't really return 6 starters on both sides of the ball. There are probably 2-3 players who may have started a game or two, but were basically back-ups. They return 4 on offense, 2 OL, TE & WR. The defense will have 5 starters back, 3 DL & 2 LB's.

Bardstown has a big and talented junior class this year, and some key pieces in the senior group as well. If the juniors who were getting lots of PT last year make a big step forward, they could have an interesting team. I'm very intrigued to see how they match up with Central.

Boyle County, Lexington Catholic and Belry for 3A supremacy for the next 4 season.

Careful... or Louisville Central might not let either Boyle or LexCath even get out of the Region for four years... Don't overlook the Yellowjackets. Bell County and Corbin probably expected to win a Regional Title in a 4 year window as well when they came to 3A...but that didnt happen.

I think you have to include all four... I also think Corbin, Russell, and Tilghman will all step their game up as well.

Tilghman has the potential to win it all this year, but it seems as of late that u never really know what kinda team will show up when Tilghman takes the field..coach Mike Rogers is a very good coach..i just don't feel that the wing-t fits Tilghman style..should Rogers get them believing in him and his wing-t system then there is potential for this group to make a very deep run at the 3a championship...

Why exactly is it not their style?

The reason I feel rogers' wing-t offense doesn't fit Tilghman is because he seems to limit the looks to 5-6 different views..he runs 70 percent of the time..Tilghman is scheduled against great competition in the early part of their season..visiting teams are gonna stack the box forcing tilghman (rogers) to beat them in the air..rogers style does not fit an air attack offense..he had some success at graves and warren central with the wing-t..but once teams figured out his limited play differential then they simply put the extra man in the box and forced you to beat them..jmo.
