Listening to Lapham last week I about threw up. According to Lapham, this is their year. They have all the pieces in place to win the SB and this is their year.

Has he been smoking crack? He is such a homer. This is the same team we had last year!!! We got no one in the first couple rounds of the draft that will even start. We got no one worth anything in FA. How in the world did this team all of a sudden become the favorite to win the SB this year????

i hate homer analyst.

You took the words right out of my mouth I can't stand Lapham. Listening to him do Bengals games is the worse.

This is pretty much the same team some other analyst have said about the Bengals over the last 2 to 3 years. If the stars line up, if we stay healthy, and IF ANDY gets it done then I agree with Lap, if not, here we go for another round.

Probably the same reason a lot of people picked them as a top team to make the Super Bowl last year but then they suffered some key injuries. Just a hunch.

NFL analyst also talked about the Bengals having the pieces the last few years it hasn't just been Lap. What the Bengals do have this year that they didn't last year is they are currently healthy. Their best defensive player Burfict played one full game last year, and then on offense they played without their number 1,2 and 4 receiver for 6 games and without their number 2 reciever all year and their best receiving te played 8 snaps. When this offense was healthy the year before they finished as a top 10 offense and that was without a guy like Jeremy Hill. With Hill last year they finished 6th in rushing in the NFL. So with the receiving threats healthy, more depth on the d line again they do have the pieces to make a run.

With that said even though they have the pieces I can't say I think they will make a run yet at least not with Dalton at qb. I am with you on Dalton. I don't think he is the worst in the league as you claim a lot. However i do agree we won't get over the hump with him. I mentioned this in the Seahawks thread. The Seahawks have a great defense and running game, but they still had to have a qb who can make plays when it counts in big games for them to win in the playoffs. Their qb can do that, our qb has failed each time. So while we still disagree on the overall pieces of this team, I do agree it doesn't matter with Dalton at qb. They can make the playoffs again but will most likely fail again.

I went today and everybody stayed healthy. Before I read the previous article, the most noticeable thing today was how Andre Smith was getting down the field blocking. He was really hustling and leading the way. Dalton looked really good for the most part. He overthrew one long one (geesh) and one 18 yard out to nobody, but he was on target most of the day.

McCarron looked great and I mean great until the defense showed up and he threw picks over the middle twice. You can tell he is not seeing things.

The DB's look great. They played Leon Hall a lot at safety with Nelson today. I believe they are concerned if Nelson or Iloka go down, they will have to use him there because their corners are strong. Dennard had a great pick today.

Gio is sick in the open field. He left defenders grabbing for air on one sweep.

Agree with your assessment. I have gone both days now. The first day McCarron looked better during team drills with Dalton missing some throws but today Dalton looked better. Which two things that help Dalton look better is having people like Green and Eifert to throw to rather than backups. Also that run today by Gio was sick. Hill is the best back on the team and the offense is best with him as the main back. However they have to find other ways to get the ball in Gio hands too because he is a playmaker. I loved how they had him also working on catching punts.

Anyone going today? (Sunday Aug 2nd)

I will be there.

I have been there the last two days, and would have gone again today but I have two softball games to play starting at 4. I love going to training camp, its relaxing but also nice to see the different drills they do and just seeing if any players stand out.
