Eagles Concert at Rupp

Featured Replies

I've paid more than $100 for multiple artists or music festivals. I'd likely pay that much for The Eagles if I thought my wife would enjoy it. I thought about seeing them at US Bank in Cincinnati but I despise the venue.

Believe it or not, as tight as I am I always pay($100 or more usually) for good seats to concerts. I refuse to sit on the lawn, in the back, etc.

I usually get the cheap seats. Everyone I see is old anyway. No need to be up close. That's what video screens are for.

I would love to see the Eagles in concert but have a hard time justifying that type of coin for a concert.

Even for an act that I like.

The Boss was (I think) $80 when we saw them on the reunion tour with E Street. Your seats were similar to ours, if I recall correctly. That's the most I ever paid for a single-artist show.

I paid $95 the first year I went to South by Southwest, in 2000, which still stands as the most I've ever spent for a concert or concert festival. Was able to go on credentials the next two years, so I don't know for sure how much the wristband cost, but I think my buddy paid $150. It's probably $400 now.

I feel very, very sorry for you poor souls who just got extorted by the Evil Don Henley for hundreds of bucks. I'm being totally sincere about that. I hope Vaseline was included in the ticket price.

It's only extortion for those who don't like the Eagles. The Professor said it was well worth the cost to him. When it comes to the arts everyone has their own idea of value. People pay millions for pictures I would not hang up in my house if they were given to me. It all comes down to personal taste.

Good Lord, lighten up. I'm playing a role here. People are going to like who they want to like.

The Linda Ronstadt/Eagles concert that I attended? "Restricted view" (above and behind the stage, not really restricted) seats were 7 bucks.

I'm old.

Not old, "advanced". :)

And you play it with such verve and enthusiasm...

That damned Henley drove me to this. I wasn't always this way. :idunno:

It was good.

Had to love the opening local humor by Henley.

Was "Seven Bridges Road" involved somehow?

No.

To settle a dispute on the correct pronouciation of the French origin 'Fayette' they turned to a group from 'Ver-sales'. Not bad to break the ice with the crowd.

Later, Bernie claimed to be wearing Wildcat underwear. But that was just plain pandering.

Did they give a shout-out to those idiots who mispronouce Greece's capital wrong as well? Had to be more than a few Ay-Thuns residents there.
