Hellcats
I'll summarize. Americans kill way more Americans using guns than terrorists or illegal immigrants do, but we throw money and attention at the later and accept the former. Kind of makes :puke:

Kind of makes :puke: Gun deaths are a problem but how do you propose those get stopped? Gun control won't happen and as proven "gun free zones" do absolutely nothing to stop crime. If anything, they promote it. As for throwing money at fighting terrorism, terrorists can kill a lot of people in one event (think 9/11). If you think throwing money at gun violence instead of fighting terrorism is a good idea, I hope you are okay with saving 100 lives while risking 1000's. Run To State
Not that that was written by an anti-gun nut with an agenda or anything. Thanks for pointing out how ignorant the anti-gun crowd can be, Hellcats and I agree, makes you want to :puke:
UKMustangFan
My thoughts: I've never owned and never will own a gun. I see no reason to. Having said that, I'm a firm believer and supporter of the 2nd amendment and would never try to take that right away. I have zero time or patience for people who think taking away legal law abiding citizens right to bear arms will stop or minimalize gun violence. It's pure ignorance IMO. BigVMan23
The Biggest Threat to Americans? Other Americans With Guns - The Daily Beast Terrorists ain't got nothing on us. :meh: Hey Hellcat, I own multiple guns and guess what? You have 0...that is ZERO chance of being shot and killed by me. That is, unless you try to break into my house or car jack me, which I don't think you will. So, yes your chances of being attacked and killed by a radical Muslim or some crazed doped up heroin addict is much greater than getting gunned down by a legally gun owning, law abiding citizen. Much, much greater.
Hellcats
Whoa. I'm not anti-gun. I got three in my closet. I hunt when I want to and am prepared if I had a home invasion or zombie apocalypse. I'm just not oblivious to the idea that Americans are using guns to kill other Americans at much higher rate than terrorists are. Our focus and resources are aimed at thugs and those that are mentally unstable thousands of miles away instead of those in our backyard. Yet we allow the old bait and switch all the time and don't make any changes. Heck, we don't even ask hard questions about what we can do to solve this that don't turn into rallying cries to buy more ammo and guns before "Obummer can take our guns" in the same breath. Talk about ignorance: Accepting thousands of American deaths each year and saying there is no answer. That is the definition of ignorance.

UKMustangFan
Let's see, there is an estimate of 290,000,000 guns in the US. There were roughly 415,000 crimes committed by a gun in 2011 (most recent data a quick google turned up). That's way less than 1% of guns used to commit a crime. Terrorists have some catching up to do. I don't know. Background checks that aren't haphazard and work. We just found an Earth like planet light years away this doesn't seem technologically out of reach. How about enforcing restrictions on those with mental illnesses owning guns? How about enforcing restrictions on those with mental illnesses owning guns? And you think we can stop all 30,000 deaths or 100,000 shootings? I don't think so. And doing those things would be great, but how is the question.
