Who should be the New Boyd County Coach?

Featured Replies

With them going to get new high school coach what about middle school. Should they start with a clean slate there and try rebuilding or see if they can get a head coach strong enough to crack down on the middle school level?

I feel for you....I dont believe any of your friends are going to get on here and help you....

I would be interested to hear their opinion too.....

Oh I don't need you to feel for me. Atleast I'm not afraid to step up and voice my opinion publicly. I'm just waiting for that new coach so I can voice my opinion to him too. Well unless they pick some patsy that I know it would be a waste of my breathe on. But I will be out there doing my best to get those other parents to step up and let it be known what's going on at the middle school level.

So who would be your choice for the middle school staff since you are so set that they need a new one? Who do you want running the youth league and who are the coaches you want there?

I think Preston was great at the middle school level and that he'd be great back there again. he might consider it a step down though I'm not sure about that. But they need someone there that's wanting to go to the jfl and keep kids in the program.

I've not heard complaints about the JFL coaches other than signups are way down. I think alot of that has to do with parents knowing what lies ahead at the middle school level. Face it if someones big brother or relative or neighbor has been run off from middle school it's going to get the parents wondering if it's worth all the effort and get them into finding other outlets for kids.

Once again...No offense BC Rules, but no one else seems to have spoken of any problems here on the Middle School issues. Plus you really never named who you thought could cure the JFL Problems.

Getting rid of Vince is one great step for the JFL program and then I think the head football coach should take charge and build a program from bottom up. If they can get a head coach in there that will step up and build the entire football program you'll see a big change in the game.

Providing they stop using that dang spread offense.

And once again Red, just because no one else is on here speaking up doesn't mean there isn't a problem.

I keep hearing current Ashland assistant Tony Love's name brought up in this topic?

What assistant coach wouldn't want the opportunity to take the reigns as a head coach? If the opportunity is right, surely Coach Love would like to see it happen...

Tony Love would be a great get for BC.

I'd be glad to block his driveway if you guys think he's considering it ;)

Of course its obvious that BC doesnt deserve him :p

I don't know who will end up in the driver's seat at BC, but if they bring as much to the program as Coach Love, then BC football will be "moving on up".

What's wrong with the spread? There have been a lot of spread teams to win the state championship over the last 10 years or so. Boyd Co averaged around 34 points a game this year. Most teams would be happy with that average.

You can still get in the 3 back set and grind it out but ask Tates Creek how that's working since the game has evolved. Unless you are somebody like Danville with superior athletes, it's pretty tough to line up in 3 backs and be really successful for a whole game. Don't get me wrong there is a time and place for that kind of offense but when you look at that Region you can pretty much chalk up a loss everytime you face Rockcastle running that kind of attack as it plays into their hands!

BC just doesn't have the talent to run spread against teams like Johnson Central.

Do you think they can just line up and pound it against a team like Central?
