Well past a few wrinkles Meyer has been running the same offense since Bowling Green. I don't see trying to increase your tempo as running a modified Oregon offense. Past some general concepts (RPO, Read game, wanting to run the ball, spread formations) they are very different offenses. If tempo is the issue then there is a whole list of schools TT, UCLA, T A&M and Oregon are just a few that push tempo.

I disagree on different offenses, all the general concepts you mention is their offenses. Just one emphasizes one more than the other...not TT or A&M they are different. At least when I watch it on tv, films, clinics, and books pretty much the same, except Meyer likes to run more QB ISO and QB ISO G.

To me Miller sticking around says a lot about him being a team player and sacrificing for the greater, wanting to be a part of something special. Similar to how Coach Cal got all the guys to buy in at UK this past season.

I guess we are really just splitting hairs...but all the things Kelly does(for the most part) Meyer and Coach Mullen were doing at Utah with Alex Smith. Obviously, they each have their own wrinkles and preferences. I think Meyer has become a more adapt the offense around the elite recruits type coach and Kelly is a get the players that fit his scheme type coach. I love watching them both. They both have who ever invented the triple option( lots of debate about who) to thank. Goes around comes around.

He has a lot of studs raising their hands right now. He literally has 2-3 of the fastest guys in the country asking for the ball on every play.

Meyer is one of the best at getting player buy in and finding ways to use talent. I am by no means an OSU fan (more because their fans rub me the wrong way) but I am a fan of meyer's. His teams are fun to watch.

Braxton is a great kid, and a very smart one and saw the writing on the wall. First, the word out of a CBus is that his shoulder is simply not capable right now of making all the throws that a starting QB must make due to practice full time and play every Saturday. Second, he has a lot of flaws that a pro QB cannot have, namely reading a defense and going through progressions. He would have gone undrafted as a QB. At least as a WR/KR/PR he can show his true value, which is his off the charts athleticism. Oh, and he gets to play on the consensus best team in the country.

Always find this statement amusing. I assume you are a UK hoops fan? The two fan bases are identical. I was actually a UK hater until I moved here 5 years ago for exact same reason. I'm still no fan, but I see the similarities now and have a great respect for the fan base.

No I'm not a UK hoops fan in part because I feel the same way about them. I also never said I hate OSU. I think the two fan bases are very similar (Bucknutters). Football wise I am a UK fan. I follow teams more because of style of play and coaching. Basketball is much the same way for me but I watch very little of it.

 

For those that don't know Bucknutters is a radio show in OH and not a slur.

Would he have gotten drafted? Yes. I'd guess no higher than perhaps 4th or 5th rounder, though. Would he have played QB in a regular season game...different question. I'm a Braxton fan, and I say, no.
