No Doughnuts for Caketown

Featured Replies

I don't know why, but I loved this article. Ft. Thomas and Newport folks working together by patronizing this awesome doughnut shop to try to lure them into Ft. Thomas.

Sounds like they went about it in the right way. It would have been a great thing to get in Ft. Thomas and undoubtedly would have been a success. I don't think the two stores would have been too close together, as was said in the article.

Kudos to Ft, Thomas on their grass roots efforts. Wish you could have made it happen. Wish the other "Fort" had thought of it first.

Cake Town?s effort for doughnuts doesn?t pan out

Probably wanted a high traffic area. Not sure you can find that in Fort Thomas especially at an affordable price.

Ticks me off the way Holtman's handled this. If they didn't want to put a store there, fine, there's probably a lot of good reasons not to. But it's insulting to their northern Campbell County customers who travel to OTR that they didn't even recognize the strenght and veracity of their campaign or appreciation of their product. Reminds me why Cookie Jar is and will always be the best.

Ha I am. And it's not the 5 miles as much as it is the parking in OTR.

My dad stops at cookie jar every morning on way to work and has for countless years. Loves that place so I say its the best bakery.

As a donut expert let me say they have a very strong offering.

Not Long's in Indy but still very good.

They did address it. Sorry they said they are not going to put one in your city. Business decision. 643 Facebook likes is not enough for me to open a store if I don't find the area capable of supporting my business needs.

THIS^^^^

It's a bit of a pain in the rear getting in an out of there.

PERSONALLY, I prefer the CookieJar over Holtmans.

I think Holtmans is overrated. They are OK. Maybe good but not great. Is there such a thing as a BAD donut?

Part of the hype is that they sell out quickly. So if you happen to get something, you think it's that much better.

Best doughnuts in the tristate area are Ross Bakery's and you have to really want it to travel that far to get them.

About once a month St. Mary's sell the cookie jar rolls in a larger ring format. I always buy one. My nieces had never had one, Their dad was from Fort Thomas and had many growing up. I told them their dad did not love them for never introducing them.

Don't live in Ft. Thomas. Proud Campbell Countian though.

Then why are you so salty about it?
