I've not heard exactly what has happened and I don't think I would post it on here PERIOD. The point is a young man has died and I think we should all respect the memory of the desist, his family, and community during this tragic time in Westwood. God bless you all!!!! It's is sad to see such a young man with all the potential in the world to be taken so soon and suddenly. Heart felt prayers go out to the Crisp family. May the peace and strenghth of our Lord be with you thru this hard time.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Mr Tom Crisp and his family. They are a fine family that cared very much about their son and their Kids. Stephen was probably one of the finest players to come thru Boyd County JFL and through Fairview's Program.

He also attended Rose Hill for a while, during the early OJ days.

Wow. I officiated Stephen for many years and he was great player, great sportsman, and most of all he was a great person. It is truely sad when we lose such a young kid who was full of potential with his whole life in front of him. God must have needed him for a much more important duty in heaven. My sincere thoughts and prayers go out to Tom and Mary Crisp and the rest of his family.

Though this is a tragic and sad time for Stephens friends I just remembered a thought that was told to me during some of my personel time of greiving over people that I have cared about. He will suffer no more of any of the problems that he might have had, GOD has a plan for everything in his Kingdom of Heaven. While it is hard to understand for us everything happens for a reason I really believe that. Through this tragic death a lot of young people will hopefully come together as one and will be stronger because of it. Prayers continue for his family and friends.

I sincerely pray that God will bless Stephen's family with His comfort and understanding. Stephen was a fine young man who will be sadly missed.

I had the pleasur of coaching Stephen for 2 years when he played basketball at Rose Hill. My heart is and has been broken since hearing the news on Sunday. I just cannot imagine how terrible this has been for his family.

To all of those who have posted kind comments, thoughts, and prayers on this forum, I would like to sincerely thank you on behalf of the Crisp family. My husband has passed along to Tom and Mary your kind words and although they are in inexplicable pain, they are still gracious and appreciative of all the kind words expressed here. Thank you .

Goliath, Stephen Crisp was like a son to my husband and I, He was my son's best friend, and was a permanent fixture in my home for the past few years. Your comment was not only misguided but it was incredibly thoughtless. Did it occur to you that someone in his family or someone very close to him might read your inaccurate post? Well, someone did and that someone is me. This should be a forum for remembrance of Stephen and his abilities as an athlete, whether you competed with him or against him, NOT a place to speculate on the cause of his death. It is unconscionable to me how people assume to know details and start rumors when the truth is that Stephen's autopsy report will not be back for at least two weeks, possibly longer. And that information, my friend, will remain within the family unless they choose to release it. Please show respect and restraint when posting on such a painful, difficult topic. We are the Gregg family and we miss our "son" very much. Thank you

Great post coacheswife, I as you can tell by my name I am a fan,alumni and suppoprt a big rival of Fairview. This goes way beyond rivalries and the like. Again may God bless and comfort his family and friends in this time of pain and grief. I really didn't mean to post on here again but I just hate to hear it when a kid passes way too early in life. Although I can't speak for goliath I would surely think that he didn't mean anything malice by his post. Anyway, may God bless the family and friends of Stephen Crisp.

This was from an email that was forwarded to me, it was sent out by Fairview's Football Coach, Chad Tackett, on monday to several area coaches and friends.

 

 

On behalf of our school and community I ask you to pray for us and for the family of Stephen Crisp. Stephen passed away yesterday at his home. The cause of death is unknown at this time. We should find out today or tommorrow the cause. Stephen was one of the greatest kids I have had the honor of being associated with. Not only was he a fine person, athlete, and student, but an incredible person that touched the lives of many. Please keep the Fairview community and school in your prayers this week and say a special prayer for Stephen and his family.

 

I cannot explain the impact that this has had on me and many others.Stephen was a special young man and we are all in shock at this time. He was the only boy in the family and was the youngest child of his father and mother, Tom and Mary Crisp. As you can imagine they are much in shock. Tom found him in bed yesterday when they arrived home from church. He was bleeding from the nose and had foam coming out of his mouth. He was already dead when Tom got to him. That is all we know, and I wanted to share this with you so that rumors and stories would not circulate that are not true.
