July 17, 201511 yr My son is getting married at The Ashley Inn in Lancaster, KY next year. Since it will be the busy wedding month of July, as the father of the groom, I'm looking now for potential rehearsal dinner venues near Lancaster. I live in NKY and would welcome any tips from locals to that area.

I was at a rehearsal dinner that was in the back room of the couple's favorite bar, and they had catered in Chipotle. Fun, casual, got the job done. :thumb: I
July 17, 201511 yr @nkypete I know some people down there and will ask them. This reminds me, we didnt have a rehearsal dinner for our wedding lol.
July 17, 201511 yr Author The Depot in Lancaster is a pretty good place. I don't know where Lancaster is, or what is near you, and of course your budget. I guess I should give some more information. I have another son getting married this October here in NKY. We are using the Radisson 360 riverview restaurant for his rehearsal dinner. We would be looking for something similar. About 20-25 people. Something on the south side of Lexington on down to Lancaster (including Nicholasville) would be in play. The closer the better, but we would want it to be nice.
July 17, 201511 yr ....we would want it to be nice. Nice you say? I was at a rehearsal dinner at Sullivan's Steakhouse in Indy. Probably close to $100 a person. That was nice. But I'm glad we weren't paying for that one. :lol2:

July 17, 201511 yr Been a while since I've been in those parts. Garrad County Stockyards if its still open. Used to be about the only place in town to eat (25 years ago). Eating, ambiance, and entertainment. Seriously. Shaker village is not too far and pretty neat. Home - Shaker Village

I know they looked at Shaker village for the wedding/reception, but ended up deciding on Ashley Inn.

For ours, my parents told us the amount they spent on my brother's rehearsal dinner and that they would spend the same on ours, and whatever they didn't spend they would give to us to use towards the wedding. We decided it wasn't a big deal to us and had it in the basement of a church (which we were able to use for free thanks to my aunt), and had Pompelio's cater. Ended up getting a nice little chunk of cash and everyone seemed to enjoy it.
