While no destination is finalized, talks are progressing towards a deal with Fox Sports.
July 16, 201511 yr I love Cowherd. Best show in sports radio and it's not even close IMO. Looks like I'll have no reason to listen to 1530 anymore. Going to have to figure out what Fox Sports is on the dial.
July 16, 201511 yr Author Between him and Simmons this could be a big blow to ESPN. I like Colin as well most of this time. Some of his stuff is kinda out there but he is spot on most of the time. He is much better than listening to Lance talk about the Reds for 3 hours.

Losing your best writer/columnist and your best on-air personality at basically the same time has got to be a huge blow.

There isn't a better sports radio show on right now, and I can't think of any that are really close. Very rarely does he talk about something that doesn't interest me. And if it doesn't interest me, he can usually get me listening and forming an opinion about the topic pretty quickly.
July 16, 201511 yr Yep. Losing your best writer/columnist and your best on-air personality at basically the same time has got to be a huge blow.I'm not sure Simmons is the best writer/columnist anymore. He rarely puts out a column and often its a rehash of an old idea. That being said, I still really enjoy Simmons but I'd' probably label him their best personality. First two writers that come to mind I'd pick over Simmons are Zach Lowe and Jonah Keri .

Maybe "most well known" would've been a better way of putting it....

Neither have the personality of Simmons. Both Lowe and Keri are great writers that's for sure. Simmons/Lowe podcast is gold IMO. I'd like to see Simmons start something on his own and take those guys from Grantland somehow.
July 16, 201511 yr He is to whiny for my taste. You can tell he always needs to be patted on the back. Comes off as arrogant. He seems like that little kid who was beat up for his lunch money everyday in school. He's a weenie.
July 16, 201511 yr I like Cowherd. Can't listen everyday, but I turn it on when I want sports talk, especially in the fall. Fox Sports seems to be upping their game. I've had FS1 on a lot lately due to soccer, and I've been sticking around for their nightly highlights show and it's pretty good. Never thought to flip back to ESPN.
