Suicide Squad - First Official Trailer

Movie is slated for release at the end of next summer. I'll admit, I wasn't all too interested in seeing it until I saw this trailer...

Word from Facebook is that WB is upset about making this trailer public. It was only supposed to be seen at the SD ComicCon but someone recorded it on a cell phone a a very low quality version to YouTube. WB went ahead and released the high quality version after.

Suicide Squad has been a long running comic through DC.

 

For those that are unaware, the Suicide Squad is a group of super villains that team together under coercion working for a covert government organization. They work high risk missions that allow the government to have deniability in case things go wrong. The Squad is led by a government agent and have contained numerous villains over the years.

 

Awesome comic! I can't wait to see the movie!

As with every DC property aside from Batman, I will keep my expectations tempered. It looks nice, but honestly, they screw up almost every movie they make that isn't Batman.

For the uninitiated..... How does The Joker fit into this as he is a pure bad guy. I think Jared Leto will do ok in this as the Joker.

 

In the comics, he is an off again-on again member of the Suicide Squad. In this movie, I think that both Batman and The Joker will be used to introduce us to the character of Harley Quinn. In the movie arc, she is a major character and a member of the Suicide Squad. This is a guess on my part based on rumors online.

Some of the clips appeared to show some of the members back stories. I would bet that the Joker is going to be shown as part of Harley's backstory.

Outside on the Nolan Batman I have never been much into the DC comic world, much bigger fan of Marvel...but have to say THIS one I might be interested in.

I liked the most recent Superman and all the Nolan Batman's. Plus with the directors DC has in place I'm looking forward to what they have coming out.

 

Also if you count tv Gotham, Arrow, and Flash are all good shows.

...plus, now Marvel has Disney money being thrown at it. The Marvel movies had *better* be good, because money certainly is no object at this point.
