Confederate flag is gone. Is New Orleans' iconic fleur de lis next?

If that is the case then, can I fly the French flag? I also find Congress offensive, can we ban them?

Fly what ever flag makes you happy, when has anyone ever complained about the Mexican flag? We turned the White House into a rainbow and some of the protestors I saw at the SC state capitol were waving African flags. My great great grandfather came over on a boat from Ireland and if I see fit I'll fly the Irish flag. Knock yourself out.

Just a month and change ago people were up in arms about a college grad daughter of illegal immigrants who waved a small Mexico flag while she walked up to get her diploma.

I saw they were changing the American Flag to this. Can we have the same flag as France?

If using the White House to make a political statement doesn't get your dandruff up then the Mexican flag shouldn't bother you at all.

If Oscar De La Hoya carries a Mexican flag into the ring does it upset people? I understand why some are offended by the stars and bars but someone will be upset no matter what.

You posed the question of when anyone got offended by the waving of the Mexican flag. I posted a recent example. Not sure what else you're looking for …

Thanks for the example. I suppose the flag waver was illegal also, correct?

I find Cracker Barrel extremely offensive and demand it be renamed the Caucasian Barrel.

That's STILL racist. I demand "European-American Barrel".

The Barrel would be safest

Somebody who's more into the immigration debate would know that. She was born here, so I suppose she's a naturalized citizen. The crux of the controversy was that "she didn't appreciate the opportunity" given to her as far as why folks objected to her Mexican flag.

I was adding to the hyperbole. It has been discussed (with disgust) in this forum when people have flown the Mexican flag. Yes, some of the those are illegal. I guess only those that are legal can be proud of their heritage.

FWIW, I would never fly any flag besides the American flag. I actually had this discussion with my father this summer. The wife of a cousin of his asked him if he would like a Mexican flag to display for Cinco de Mayo. Dad said no, as he served in the Army underneath the American flag and that was the only one he would ever fly. He mentioned to me that she was a second generation American, where dad is a multi-generation American.

Please thank your dad for his service.

Illegals can be proud of their heritage they just need to do it where they are legal.

She was born here.

That would be "native American". As am I.
