I am curious as to the thoughts people have as they read this editorial.

That is the most perfectly written piece I've ever seen on the topic.

 

I most certainly fall in the trap of the last point made on here. I've tried many times to express feelings that come from the heart of the article, but eventually I just move on to the next "issue" because getting most white people to understand how deeply ingrained the racism is and will continue to be for a long time is something they aren't interested in hearing because it makes them uncomfortable.

There were a couple of points that he made that really weren't fair. Like lumping all white people together as part of the problem. I'm not saying I don't deserve to be lumped in, but there are plenty that don't.

I've stated over and over. In the modern society the only privilege is green. A large majority of every race is born without any privilege. Privilege comes with money not skin color.

I would argue the author of this article is part of the problem. He won't talk to white people about race because he doesn't like the response.

 

Constructive conversations should be uncomfortable on critical topics. It shouldn't be I'm going to take my ball and go home because I don't like what you to say. That premise is silly and unhelpful.

Please do I'm begging you to. I've said it before your are the typical white liberal who apologizes for all other white people to make himself feel better about himself. Your first response to this topic was comical. As if somehow you have some life experience or understanding that most white people don't get .

And to be clear I have plenty of guilt built up for not pushing harder on the exact topics this article brings to perfect light. Given the things I have lived and experienced first and I should NEVER stop shouting about the racial divide in this country fostered and protected by those that have nothing more to say than "Wasn't me".

 

So I'll say it now very clear so my position is concrete. "Wasn't me" IS THE PROBLEM...
