It will be a long day of football for my son his team plays at 1pm against Union Raiders and then against Walton at 4pm should be some good matches the weather should be perfect.

South Kenton Midget Youth played really good today scored 3 times on Union Raiders and only gave up one touchdown. After that scrimmage they scrimmaged Waltons Midget Youth and tied 6 to 6 at Dixie. Fun day of football!

Years ago they figured out that if you had more scrimmages you can have more opportunities to charge and raise money.

Which - given the dramatically low numbers for myriad reasons - is a necessity that keeps the league and some of its organizations afloat. Believe me, every director in the NKYFL gets it...it's not ideal, but it's also nice to be able to afford to equip your kid, pay league fees, and many many other things that require $$$.

I heard a parent say that Campbell County didn't charge kids to play this year. Any truth to that? if so, how'd they manage it. That insurance can't be cheap. I'd have to assume it's a lot of fundraising.

If that is the case I think that is awesome! That would take a huge amount of work and would only help their numbers. I would be interested to know what type of fund raising they did.

Now you're backtracking. It was not a joke. You cannot make such comment that has a tinge of misconduct. The comment was enough that I had to sign in to put the kibosh on it and make sure others weren't misled by your statement.
