2015 Home Run Derby

Featured Replies

That new scoreboard might get pelted.

That's what me and some of the other vendors were saying.

The field looks pretty strong, especially considering a few heavy HR hitters turned it down.

I'm a little worried for Frazier in the first round. Especially with the added home town pressure.

If anyone can hit a ball over the scoreboard, it will have to be the longest home run in the history of baseball lol. I think to the last row of the section a player needs to hit it 460 feet. Add 30 feet for the score board and you are looking at 490 to the top. With the height and distance it probably will take over a 525 plus foot towering shot to clear it. Pretty much impossible

Thanks for the description, haven't been down there so am only going by what I see on TV. So the odds of going over the scoreboard are about the same as hitting that damn truck.:lol2:

Really glad to see 3 lefties!

Hopefully I can get my hands on a HR ball.

....

Was at GABP for a meeting today and the conversation came up as to whether or not we'll see a ball in the river for only the 2nd time ever on Monday night. Dunn hit one over the batters eye in CF before the riverboat was up there (

), but no ball has left the stadium since. Could well happen on Monday night.

Looking forward to it.

Your meeting was before 8:35?

I never watch the HR Derby, because it just goes on and on. But will be watching this one for what has been posted on here:

1. Can someone hit the truck?

2. Can someone go over the board or at least into the river?

Aren't "juiced" balls used for the HR Derby?

yes they are!

yes they are!

Microwaved like we used to do in softball?, :lol2:

I like Prince Fielder's chances of sailing one out.

With MTGL, that wouldn't surprise me.

I'll be in attendance for the HR Derby. I'm probably most excited about Marlana Van Hoose singing the National Anthem.

Is that an urban legend that they found the ball on a piece of driftwood floating in the river?

Pederson hits the longest Home Runs in baseball outside of Stanton. Actually I think I heard he averages more distance on his Home Runs than Stanton does. I think he's going to put one out of the stadium.
