Bank of KY > BB&T Merger

Featured Replies

Have two checking accounts with BoK. I've honestly used a check maybe 3 times in the past 10 years. It's just easier doing everything electronically.

In ten years, kids will be asking their parents what a "check" was. They will be a thing of the past...sort of already are.

You may be surprised to know that some of your "electronic" bill payments are still made by check. When you want to pay some bill by using an online billpaying system at your bank it can only be done that way if the receiving company can accept an ACH file. If they can't your bank will create a paper check and mail it to them.

Oh I know...I have worked in banking for over a quarter century. I can tell you banks hate checks...more expensive to process and more susceptible to errors. With technology heading where it is headed, it will simply not make sense to pay by check in the future.

Well merger is done and over, how are things?

Im going to wait for a few responses before I post mine.

Everything is smooth for me with the one exception that I was told on the customer service line (actually talking to a human) that I would get free checks the first time around only to find out that was bait and switch and nothing was free. Other than that everything is fine.

Things are bad very bad.

Ive had my last straw with BB&T, and if it wasnt for the fact we are 90% of the way through the process with my inlaws house I would pull everything from them. The latest is a dandy.

Home equity line on wife and I's house, BB&T randomly advanced $30K out of the equity line. Not into one of my accounts, or the wifes account, or our joint account. They dont know where they advanced it too, they cant trace the transaction.

Sounds like someone had some personal information stolen...

Thats not the case at all, according to BB&T it was a system generated advance that went to no one.

Then what's the issue?

They took $30K out of my equity line, as in it shows $30K was used/advanced.

And they acknowledged that it was a system issue, and it's now back, right?

Correct, and no.
