@rockmom They broke even on selling their house. Walked away with nothing. Father in law is on disabilty due to his multiple strokes and mother in law takes care of him.

Just sold my house and I can't tell you how awesome it felt to see that payoff to 5/3rd.

Those idiots will call you to collect 5 days into your grace period.

Never thought id find a bank as bad as fifth third but its a close tie at this point.

Yes for my in laws, who are currently living with us after selling their house in eastern Kentucky.

Ummmmmmm... A couple thousand is one thing...$30,000? Dude.

Unless you are ready, willing and able to eat that $30,000, most everyone will tell you don't do it. And being family just adds another complicated layer to it.

This a million times over.

This a million times over.

And I don't know about plantman...but $2,000 would be hard for me to eat, much less $30,000. And from the situation he just described his in-laws are in, I'd say it's a VERY good chance that $30,000 won't make it's way back to him.

@plantmanky, not trying to upset you, just being honest dude and trying to prevent some financial headaches for you down the road.

Maybe I didnt make it clear, wife and I are buying the house period, not the inlaws. The inlaws are just going to live there.

All good Big V. When wife moved up to this part of the state before we got married this was discuss, and this was the plan all along. Once they sold their house (took them over 2 years to sell it) Wifey and I would buy a little house for them to live in. Longer term when the inlaws are gone its a rental property, I used to have several rental properties years ago and sold them all in 2006.

Did BB&T make everything right?

As of this moment, no. I havent heard from the bank since yesterday afternoon.

They added a $14 per month service fee (from $0) on our account last October. Its a business account for a holding company that doesn't get used very often (deposits and checks cut twice a year) so I didn't catch it right away.

I couldn't believe it.

Is there some maximum limit for a monthly service fee?
