May 29, 201511 yr Votto hits a solo in the first and Strasburg leaves the game in the 2nd due to some type of arm or shoulder injury.
May 30, 201511 yr Cozart SS Votto 1B Frazier 3B Bruce RF Pena C Byrd LF Schumaker 2B DeSclafani P Hamilton CF Ok Price, you have made your point to Billy. Having a pitcher hitting .071 in the 8 hole is STUPID. Hamilton is struggling to be sure but do you really think the pitcher should hit ahead of a guy hitting over .200?!?!
May 30, 201511 yr What happened with Votto and Harper? It started with Cingrani hitting Harper with a pitch. Harper didn't like it & started jawing with Cingrani on his way to 1st. Once he got to 1st, Votto jumped in & uncharacteristically started talking too. They went back & forth for a while.
May 30, 201511 yr What happened with Votto and Harper? Cingrani came in to face Harper. 7th inning (maybe 6th?). Reds up 4-2, man on 2nd base. Cingrani's 1st pitch of the night is a 94 MPH fastball that drills Harper in the back between the numbers. Harper was not happy & stood at home plate for quite some time. As he begins to walk to first, he stares down Cingrani & says something (appeared to be F something). I think Votto saw it and said something to Harper at first base. Harper responded, and they had a few words but nothing too serious. I think Cingrani probably hit him on purpose.
May 30, 201511 yr Disco pitched well. Bullpen was okay. Chapman was feeling good. Games like tonight make some of these losses even more frustrating.

I don't think there is any probably about it, he definitely nailed him on purpose and I thought it was awesome. I'm not in favor of trying to injure anyone but I'm sort of glad he intentionally hit him (if he did). Harper is known for his arrogance, so I'm sure he'll have some more throughout his career. A few weeks ago in one of these threads we were talking about showing some fire and emotion. Many thought Chapman would be the only one, but I mentioned Cingrani and he showed it tonight. I don't blame Harper at all for being upset. The crowd started getting after Harper when he stood at home plate. I was in an aisle right next to the Reds dugout and saw the whole exchange. Glad to see Votto come in and step up for his teammate. I couldn't believe the Nationals didn't come back and nail Frazier. I said that I would have. They don't and he hits another HR to extend the lead. Again, not looking for an injury or a brawl but I liked seeing that attitude from Cingrani and Frazier. This team needs to show a little more character out there.
May 30, 201511 yr Tonight was a fun night at the ball park, just under 29,000 announced attendance. Be great if the sun peaked out tomorrow from about 3:30 - 7:00 or so and another win.
May 30, 201511 yr Have to admit, I was hoping that Chapman would plunk Harper in the 9th, too. That would've been awesome & surely would've required some type of retaliation. I'm interested to see if Washington retaliates tomorrow or not.
May 30, 201511 yr Loved seeing Votto jaw with Harper. Very uncharacteristically fiery of Votto, but I loved him sticking up for his teammate.
