I’ll admit I recently became a closet 19 kids and counting fan.

 

I just got sucked in by the “side hug” entertainment. And then Jill & Jessa’s subsequent courtships, marriages, pregnancies, etc. Just couldn’t stop myself.

 

Yikes though about the emerging dark secrets, and the show has now been yanked.

Never heard of them or this show till this story broke.

I have long been a fan of the show, though I don't subscribe to all of their beliefs.

 

I have mixed feelings on the issue. The son made mistakes when he was a 14 year old. Doesn't he deserve forgiveness at some point? If he's made amends with his victims, then I don't think that it's my place to judge him, particularly since this type of behavior doesn't seem to continue.

 

On the other hand, it makes their arguments against homosexuality (i.e., they shouldn't have access to children, because they might be pedophiles) a bit hypocritical.

This is why they are getting slammed, and deservedly so. Their views that they push about gays, living in sin, going to hell, shouldn't have access to children and adopt as they will molest the kids. And here we have their son, who at 14 and 15 molested 5 underage girls, including his sisters. But they expect him to get a pass and be forgiven? At what age do you know that molesting is wrong? So I take it he should never be allowed to be around children now?

 

When did the family find out? What was done legally to him?

I thought the same about the bolded. But the viewers can't "unhear" what is now in the news. Really hard to make it go away so the show can continue.

Agree with this!! And on a side note, I really like Josh’s wife.

 

Anyway I'm bummed the show was canceled. As a recent fan, I was curious to (1) watch one of the sons go thru a courtship, to see if the same “rules” would apply; and (2) see Jana (the oldest girl) meet a great guy (for some reason she always seems a little sad to me).
