May 23, 201511 yr Check out Chris Stapleton's debut album Traveller Great Country music IMO, he has a heckuva voice. And he's a Kentucky boy to top it off.
May 23, 201511 yr Author Link to the title song and first single from the album for y'all to get a sample.
May 23, 201511 yr Best voice out in my opinion, soulful, bluesy with a southern tone. I hated that he left the Steeldrivers but I think he will do well on his own.
December 21, 201510 yr This guy is great. I hate that he sang about something so awful as Tennessee Whiskey instead of Bourbon, but I understand rhyming. It's a fantastic song.
December 21, 201510 yr This guy is great. I hate that he sang about something so awful as Tennessee Whiskey instead of Bourbon, but I understand rhyming. It's a fantastic song. Honest to goodness, the first time I heard the song I thought the exact same thing.
December 21, 201510 yr Honest to goodness, the first time I heard the song I thought the exact same thing. I mean, he's from Ky and all. That's just wrong. He needs a bourbon song or three on his next record. I'll buy it either way.
December 21, 201510 yr Lyrics aside, I just think it is so cool that he took an old song and changed the arrangement to that of an Etta James song, and made a "new" song out of the two.
December 21, 201510 yr I am completely obsessed with this guy right now. Jim, now that he's more mainstream you can't like him anymore, right?
December 21, 201510 yr Been listening to him for a while now. He did some great work with SteelDrivers as well. Wish I could have caught him in one of the smaller venues before he ends up in arenas. He'd be awesome in the Ryman.
December 21, 201510 yr I am completely obsessed with this guy right now. Jim, now that he's more mainstream you can't like him anymore, right? I'm safe since I discovered him before the mainstream got him. I mean, I still like Adele.
December 21, 201510 yr I'm safe since I discovered him before the mainstream got him. I mean, I still like Adele. Still it's got to be hard for you to see him grouped with Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton in award categories at the CMA's.
December 22, 201510 yr I was fortunate enough to catch him at the Mountain Arts Center in Prestonsburg a couple of times... Most recently in (I believe) July. I'm glad to see he's getting all of this attention.
December 23, 201510 yr Author ^ Same. I was 4th row when I saw him. Probably wouldn't be able to get that close now.
December 27, 201510 yr His song writing credits are impressive, first time I heard him singing thought it was Travis Tritt.
