Shoot, they have a better claim to that 'title' than anybody else on the list. Except maybe Highlands.

I totally agree with that. Hence the "somewhat" in the first post. We have had many successes over the past ten years just not the publicity.

It's just hard to believe with all those wins and all the good teams they have had that Somerset hasn't won a state title.

Could it fairly be argued that the big win Somerset got over Louisville HS (I guess it wasn't called Male then) way back when with the guys who played on the legendary Centre College squad was possibly just as good as a state championship? That game spawned the name of one of the coolest mascots ever, from what I understand.

And on that note, is it not possible BG had a few of these kind of wins back in the day as well? Maybe some historical win over Male or Manual back before state titles were contested?

Unlikely. BG never had an undefeated season until 1995. It is possible, but the burden of proof would be on those making the claim.

 

As to my point about total wins, nobody has refuted it. Whether or not they accept it, my logic is sound.
