Social Media: An every day fight for nearly 20% of married couples

Featured Replies

I've been on record here before about how much I despise Facebook, and some of that was because of the ridiculous impact I'd seen it have on friends and significant others. So this comes as no surprise and yes, I expected it to be higher. I'd suspect it plays a big part in breaking up those who are not yet married at a much higher rate.

So given time to digest it do you still despise Facebook for this reason?

Well, I thought that was a statement everyone would agree with.....There's one in every crowd though I guess.

He is an unusual bird!

That and all the others from back then too. I find Facebook OK for business type things, but I feel like that wave has actually passed by. I tied our video businesses Facebook page to our Twitter account for postings and find 90% of the time I forget Facebook is even there. And personally.... I have never once regretted not having it.

I also still don't regret my statement that launched a thread: I don't have a Facebook account and no child of mine ever would have one.

Deep breaths...

Ever is an awfully long time... just sayin'

I guess I don't understand how any of that is Facebook's fault. Are you saying that if not for Facebook all of these people would still be married? Do you feel the same way about bars?

Also to the bold, I would say that is a good thing. Saves them from having to get divorced later.

Facebook is a reflection of your real life. If you don't do drama, you won't see drama on your feed because you don't have friends that do drama. If you see drama and you don't like it, just like in real life, you can eliminate that person from your life. It's really simple.

Or you just laugh at all the stupid crap people post, awe at the cute pics of doggies and grandkids, and new babies they post, and just roll with it.

Exactly.

That's why I unfollowed 95% of the UK fans I used to follow on Twitter. :lol2:

I feel honored you've kept me as a FB and snapchat friend then! Of course, I don't talk smack.

PSA: If you're a UK fan and my friend on either Facebook or Twitter, consider yourself well liked. :lol2:

I don't mind a little smack talk, but it's the annoying folks I refuse to deal with. You know who they are.

Facebook isn't actually as bad anymore since you can just hide people from your news feed.

Agreed, but then I'll occasionally get questioned: "Did you see my picture I posted on Facebook the other day?"
