Did not think that coaches could talk to kids that were going to be sophomores? Also was not aware you could attend a camp free of charge. That must have been what the UK coach was telling a few kids in NKY. Good information here, anything you could add would be helpful.

 

I don't know all the details I am a friend of the family and asked permission to post this so I only post the details given to me. With that said I don't know rules but I am guessing in home visits are not allowed a "chance" meeting at the school with the kid is acceptable.

If this young man has not played varsity football and has never been to any camps. How does any of the schools know about him?

All good questions Mustang75. I am trying to find out some information as well because my son is going through some of this stuff right now as well, but he is going to be a senior so the playing field is a little different.

Once again I do not know all the details. Maybe since this was an invite only camp, nobody gets charged. As far as them knowing him, I have no idea if the family has sent something out or if it is the SK coaching staff letting these programs know about him.

the height does put him on the radar. My son was offered on the fact he is big and Athletic.

You can have visits from coaches as a sophomore? Just curious, exactly how did Duke invite him to their big man camp, phone, text, e-mail, camp flyer or some other way. These are serious questions by the way as I am currently trying to gather information myself on the entire process.

It is not hard for a player to get the personal cell phone number of a college coach.
