Knott has played the worst schedule of any team I have ever seen. For supposedly being such a highly regarded team they played no one good. They wont win it. Justice and Hall are great players and BB should have challenged them with some tougher opponents.

They went 3-1 in the Beach Ball Classic, played Covington Catholic, Lincoln County, Southwestern, and Clay County. Not the toughest schedule in the State, but not one full of cupcakes either, as they had some tough games. The Beach Ball Classic is the real deal. They also probably had some bigger late season games cancelled due to weather (as did most teams).

Palyed and beat # 1 teams from Arizona (Shadow Mt.)69-56, and Arkansas (North Little Rock) 70-53 lost to #1 team in Florida class 3A 50-49, and beat #3 ranked team in South Carolina Spring Valley 78-46 with South Carolina commit Dozier..That's a pretty good bunch of nobodys! Also beat Cov Cath 78-66 (led by 22 at 1 point), beat Licoln Co. @ Lincoln Co 85-59. I rest my case!

I thoroughly disagree with your statement.

Ill give you Cov Cath and the Beach Ball Classic but all that was before January 1. I think they lost a game with hoptown so that is fair as well. But Lincoln and Southwestern are just ok. Clay Co. is no good. And Magoffin Co, Pike Central, Belfry, Breahitt Co. twice, Buckhorn, Bracken Co., Hazard, Mulhlenburg and Powell Co as 10 of your out of district games is pathetic. Granted their district is terrible and I know they have to play those games but for a three time now four time defending region champ and one of the best teams (supposedly) in the mountains in years and a kid that is a lock to win Mr. Basketball, you should play a better schedule in my opinion.

Coach, you know basketball. you think Knott Co. really played a good schedule? Im surprised at that.

A few more nuggets on Calloway. They are coached by Terry Birdsong who coached Graves County for several years and had a lot of success. He has helped a talented bunch harness their potential this year. Most of Calloway's senior starters have played since their Freshman years and most were sophomore starters on team that lost close game to Graves in Regional Semifinal two years ago. Last year they beat McCracken both times during the regular season but then lost a close game to McCracken in the first round of the Regional tournament. McCracken then went on to win the Regional and defeat Wayne at state fairly comfortably before losing a close game in Final 8 to Bowling Green. This is a very experienced team that athletically will not have a problem matching up with Knott. Can they guard Justice? I don't know but Birdsong is an excellent defensive coach and I think he will figure out away to contain him. I repeat what I said earlier, anyone from Knott who thinks this will be an easy game will be in for a surprise. I think Calloway wins this game. Parker Adams is Calloway's best player and he can score inside and out. A physical player with good size and handle that is tough to match up with. They also have very talented senior Skyler Hunter who can also score inside and out. Two very tough matchups surrounded by experienced smart players. Should be interesting.

Shadow Mountian plays division 2 in Arizona and didn't win the state tournament. the team from Florida that beat you is a 3A school. Lincoln Co. is average at best and has no answer for Hall. Plus you caught them in the fourth game of the week for them. Im not knocking your team. I think you all have great players and I will be pulling for you once the 11th region is out next week but your schedule since January has been awful IMO. Maybe I am wrong but I dont think Jenkins and Belfry and buckhorn and breahitt co prepare you for the sweet 16. I dont think you can argue that.

I prefer to look at it like people who criticize Kentucky for playing in the SEC. Knott did a good job of playing a tough non-region schedule. They can't help that the 14th isn't a very strong region, top to bottom.

I am not saying Knott is anything like UK. I just think that's an equivalent example.

I do think that Calloway will be a formidable challenge for them. Calloway has been playing good basketball and Knott hasn't been challenged in a while.

Knott's seniors have been starting since they were freshman and have won games at Rupp before. Knott has the experience in this game.

The weather got them twice if I'm not mistaken. And Calloway's schedule is as bad or worse. I'd look at it before making that statement.

People criticized Knott for paying Trinity to come play in the pre-season. It's a long trip to the mountains and expensive so I understand better teams not wanting to travel. Knott had to play Jenkins, JB, and LCC twice because of being in the district. Contracts with schools you mentioned as being weak were not intentional on Knott's part. It was a relatively very easy schedule. No debate here but I can tell you it wasn't because the Patriots were running from competition. I admire Bracken for coming to the mountains and wanting to test their young team. I will agree on one point; you only get better by playing the best. However, circumstances prohibit one from having a solid schedule.

Exactly my point!!!! I haven't looked but I'll take your word for it that it is better than Calloway co schedule. . BUT......Calloway co doesn't have mr basketball. Calloway co isn't three time defending region champ. Calloway co isn't ranked in the top 3 in the state all season. Calloway isn't a fav in the state tourney.

The fact that they didn't play any games in Louisville or Lexington is unbelievable to me.

But I digress. Go PATRIOTS!!!!!!

I'm not trying to be a KCC apologist, but they played in one of the most prestigious holiday tourneys in the country at Myrtle. Had 2 games scheduled at neutral sites with top ranked opponents. Sure they could have scheduled more outside the 14th, and I agree. I wish they'd have played in the KOBG but they chose to play at Myrtle instead. Not unlike Bullitt East when they had Willis and company.

Fair points.

I can tell you one thing Knott has plenty of respect for Calllway Co. These kids are on a mission and that is to win a state championship . They have had the same demeanor for every game they played this year. They know only one way to play and that is to play hard. As for the schedule they played, Coach King tried to pick up games with teams from Louisville and Lexington, but for various reasons they couldn't take place. It has been a nightmare for Coach King to make a scheule for the last three years. And sparky the team from Arizona Shadow Mountain you put down beat Scott County by 20. I say hats off to the non district teams that manned up and played Knott Central ! Go Patriots !
