HC is a good team Etown is great. I can't see HC being able to score enough to stay in the game. I will say 56-35ish.

 

This is where I have my concern as well. How does HC score?

Strange things has happened during the Sweet 16, thats why you have to play it. HC will try to keep the game in the 40's and slow the game down to a snails pace. If they shoot a high percentage and control tempo, who knows.

What I do know, Mercer had a horrible game plan. Maybe shooting 3's is their thing, but thats not going to work on this stage.

How did Bell County's Morris do? She's a Kentucky signee. I saw her on TV in the WYMT tourney in January and she looked very good. Looked to be a 5'10 guard.

I suppose no matter how good a player is a team as solid as Holy Cross will figure out a way to stop them.

E-Town undefeated versus KY schools. Only one KY team has been within 10 points of E-Town, and that was a 9 point spread.

BOWLING GREEN — A strong defensive effort just wasn’t enough for the Bell County Lady Cats to overcome their worst shooting performance of the season. Covington Holy Cross used a 12-0 fourth-quarter run to break open a close game and went on to a 51-33 win in the first round of the Houchens Industries/KHSAA Girls’ Sweet 16.

 

 

Senior Deja Turner scored 15 points and senior forward Ally Mayhaus finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds to lead the fifth-ranked Indians (30-3). Sophomore Aleah Tucker added ten points while junior point guard Dajah McClendon had nine assists.

 

 

The Lady Cats were held to under 30-percent shooting (13 of 44) and managed to score just three points in both the first and fourth quarter.

 

 

“It was just a rough night offensively for us. I thought we came out a little tight at the beginning of the game and didn’t allow ourselves to get settled,” Bell County coach David Teague said. “We’ve shot the ball well all year. That’s the thing that probably got us tonight. You have to give credit to Holy Cross, they did a really good job defensively.”

 

 

With size on the interior and athleticism outside, the Indians make the Lady Cats work hard to find open shots in the half-court.

 

 

Bell senior Maci Morris led all players with 17 points but struggled with her shot most of the game. The UK signee finished 7 of 27 from the field and two for eight from 3-point range.
