An Indonesian company has apologized for printing washing instructions on a sports shirt telling a woman to clean it because "it's her job."

The company, Salvo Sports, said sorry on Sunday, International Women's Day, reports the BBC.

The label on a shirt for a soccer team said: "Washing instructions: Give this shirt to a woman. It's her job."

It prompted lots of criticism on social media and has caused the company to backtrack.

Salvo Sports said on Twitter: "The message is simply instead of washing it in the wrong way, you might as well give it to a lady because they are more capable.

"There is no intention to humiliate women."

Salvo said it wanted to apologize for any misinterpretations.

Mrs BB won't let me do laundry....ever...says I have no idea what I'm doing. I find this ironic because I have done a lot of my own laundry for years with no issues..or so I thought.

Secret Guy Tip: If you never want to do laundry, and you don't want to be accused of being a sexist, throw a few white women's blouses in with your red t-shirts and cook it up on Hot, then make sure to get that load in the dryer.....seems to be the trick

That tag is soooo wrong.

The tag SHOULD have stated..."Washing instructions: Give this shirt to a woman. Preferably one barefoot and pregnant. It's her job."

Unfortunately it left out that extra sentence. Had that been there, then the controversy would have been averted.:D

I'm going back through Mad Men ahead of the final season premiere in April. Between that and this shirt I'm figuring out everything there is to know about how to talk to a lady.

LIFE. LESSONS.

"Then put another log on the fire"...
