I could have done with some popsicles or ice cream at the Fieldhouse on Saturday. Anything to cool me off!

Love that place but turn the fans up, please!

Love traveling to Augusta as well! Top notch concessions and you are up close and on top of all the action on the court!

It is usually not that hot in there. The first session was Ok but the second session was a little toasty!

I've been to many regional games at both Mason Co and Henry Co. Very, very, very similar atmospheres. The Fieldhouse gets more play on here because there are more 10th region people who post on BGP, and everyone's hometown experience is always better than everyone else's. :lol2:

But, semifinal night in the 8th region is really, really good. Henry Co will be rocking tonight, especially with Grant Co and Owen Co in that mix, two competitive programs with enthusiastic fan bases that don't always get to this point. And, Collins and Oldham will also show out, but they are from communities that do make it to the regional semis on a regular basis.

I prefer both over the 9th at NKU, but that's a matter of taste for me. The BOKC has that big-time arena feel in a slightly smaller scale.

It doesn't feel like 84 feet. I'm going with no, mostly because of where the coaches boxes are (or are supposed to be) and the balance of the floor.

I am huge fan of Augusta, one of the best overall concession stands in the 10th. For the Region, sorry A-town fans, I'm a Fieldhouser.....like a whole 'nother city.

I was disappointed that The Fieldhouse didn't have a better concession for the games Saturday. Missed revenue stream in my opinion....could have done with some nachos during the games :sorry:

And Gatorade, that's always been my biggest issue with Fieldhouse concessions. Also why do they never use their upper deck concessions?

As far as great concessions go, believe it or not the Calvary Christian Cougars have some of the best i've ever seen, or at least they did in 2012 when I was there last.

They DO have a great concession stand! Lately, they have been serving Chick-fil-A sandwiches!

I like the Augusta HS gym not only because its a throwback set up (like, actual balconies over top the court) because I won a free throw shooting contest there.

Bracken's old gym was pretty awesome at district tournament time when the "old" 38th was held there. Stands went all the way to the ceiling. It probably had room for 2,000 people and with the ceiling that low, it could get loud.

Anyone remember the old "cracker box" type gyms in the 9th region in the 70s/80s, like Beechwood, Dayton, Bellevue, Dixie Heights, Simon Kenton, or Newport? Probably none of those gyms had more than 800 seats in them (I know Beechwood's gym was REALLY small), but most nights, they were packed and loud.

Call me a homer but I love to take in a game at Holy Cross, especially when it's a packed house!

Wait....in all of your years, you have never been to a game there? Growing up it the concession stand was dubbed "the best in the 10th" because you could buy literally anything there! I'm shocked that you've never been there. You'll have to get Randy Parker to take you there one day.

One of my better high school memories was St. Pat and Augusta having to stop a JV game due to a fire alarm after they burnt their cheeseburgers :lol2:

I really like Henry County's environment.

Apparently, there has been a huge Twitter battle going on with Owen County's Fan Zone (OZone) and Collins' Fans. Should make for a very loud Winchester gym tonight for the second game.

Hilarious. :lol2:

Surprised no one mentioned Cov Cath.....

Surprised no one mentioned Cov Cath.....

Was just going to say the same. I would have to go with cov cath when both teams bring a nice section but that's my biased opinion.

This.

I'm in this camp too.........

Favorite place to watch my team: Rupp Arena

Best place to watch a game: Hmmmm, in my area I really liked Edmonson County's gym. The chair backs are nice.
