Final from The Fieldhouse.

Pendleton extended the pressure early and often and made it difficult for the Panthers to get off many bombs. Led comfortably for most of the game but Owens Crawford put A-town on his back. Got it to within 1 but never could get over the hump. Cats wisely put the ball in Hunter Wood's hands late; the one Cat that never seemed to get rattled. Congrats to both squads on an ultimately very exciting game.:thumb:

Great crowd on both sides of the floor at the Fieldhouse this afternoon. And always a pleasure to put a few more BGP names with face. even if just in passing. Ladiesbballcoach (he THINKS that's correct), Quagmire, and Can'tcoach among others.

Congrats to Coach Belcher and his team and fan on advancing.

The score did get close, but don't think the outcome was ever in doubt. This game was just flat out ugly from my viewpoint, tons of missed 3's,missed layups, lots of fouls and crazy looking turnovers and after that snoozefest opener, was expecting more from these 2 old time rivals

Pendleton ended the game on an 11-2 run. Wildcats struggled to score today & I felt like most of the team played really tight all day. The one kid who didn't was point guard Hunter Wood. He was outstanding today at running the team & got the big and-1 when the Cats were clinging to a 46-45 lead.

Tip of the hat to Augusta for playing with such effort and grit. Owens Crawford played really well for the Panthers, although the young man did miss some free throws. Still, I thought he was great today. Hopefully Snapp will have a full recovery & Hinson can get this team rolling again next year.

PC could had got to the rim whenever they wanted!

Sure they missed a few lay ups...doesn't mean give up on attacking !

Some point players need to know their roll...the best two players only passed to each other twice in the entire game !

Two shots in the second half from one of your best scorers will not win a lot of games!

PC will bounce back !

Hats off to coach Hinson...

Owens Crawford is one of my favorite players to watch play the game. Explosive, plays with passion, makes good decisions, and as shown can put his team on his back and keep them contentious.

You are on target with your assessment of the game. Hunter Wood plays with intensity every minute he is on the floor and on both ends of the floor.

Good to meet you even though you and parker harass me often over my inability to prognosticate basketball games. By the way, my wife was a bit disappointed that she did not receive a free bag of popcorn. You are welcome to join the Wildcat bandwagon now that your Royals are finished.

You had only to point her out. Maybe tomorrow night.

And one more thing.

The generosity of women never ceases to amaze.

Parker told me that you are a good guy. I felt compelled to make my own determination, as a 7 year-old's character assessments are often suspect.

At first blush, he may have been correct.:thumb:

Was good to meet mcpapa after the game. As far as the game goes, it certainly wasn't pretty. But I give Pendleton County credit for holding on when Augusta made a push in the 4th quarter and I give Augusta credit for showing the grits, guts and determination that they have all season to battle back and make it a game before fading. So excited for next year when the Panthers will be at full strength and contending for the big prize!!

Best of luck to Pendleton County on Monday night!
