Do we play a game before the end of the month?

Featured Replies

This weather SUCKS!!!!

We, NewCath, are supposed to play Boone Co. in a scrimmage next Wednesday (Mar 11) and kick off the regular season the following day against Holy Cross. Right now are field has about a foot of snow on it, and once it melts it will be like a swamp for probably another week. :irked:

On top of that, with school being out because of weather and the boys and girls basketball teams, we have only been in the gym 3 or 4 times for practice, but have been to the batting cage 4 or 5 times.

Do we get any games in before the end of the month?

When I hit the lottery, I'm building an indoor softball facility that would "shock the world".

Supposed to be 64 degrees on Thursday.

Not sure if that's air temperature or standing water temperature.

The Bluebirds just built one!!:thumb:

Not on the scale that I would build one.

Before the end of March?

It's supposed to be almost 70 by this time next week.

yes.

Are you in Fla? J/K High 50's all next week in NKY.

I'm guessing we will be ready in about a week.

If there is standing water up there like it is here in Anderson Co BEFORE we got 20" of snow, then I don't know how anything would be played the next week and a half at least. Once this stuff starts to melt off, it has no place to go. Fields are gonna look like swamps around here. And that's if we don't get anymore rain, don't know what the forecast is calling for the next several days.

Talked to a coach last night, he took a shovel and removed the snow down to the dirt on the infield. He then stepped where he removed the snow and stepped into mud 3 inches deep. That being said, there will be no softball this week, because after the snow melts Thursday we have rain moving in. I say there's a good chance it will be the end of March before we see a softball game.

Schedule Beechwood a lot of games!!!

I like playing on their football field, they do a nice job making it softball friendly. Although the backstop is very short.

They have a better portable fence then the State Tourney does. :)

Yes they get games in...I can't believe the KHSAA believes this meets regulation. For the record, most umpires hate playing softball on a football field...

Our first game (Thursday) is already canceled...I figure that Saturday will be too in the very near future.
