175 pound pit bull..."Hulk"

Featured Replies

Holy CRAP that's a huge freaking monster dog! And only 18 months old!

This dog just may be the world's largest Pit Bull. Only 18-months-old, Hulk weighs a hefty 175 pounds.

Despite his intimidating size, his owners Marlon Grannan and his wife Lisa Grannan say Hulk is a sweet family dog and a best friend to their 3-year-old son Jordan.

They all say that right after they have bitten someone.

I wasn't gonna go there...but yep.

Saw where they are working on a paid license in Cincy, but it will get rejected and they will just go for a hefty fine if they do bite someone. Not a fan of the breed.

Dog doesn't look real. :lol2:

And, yeah, I'm all for owning dogs of all breeds, and feel pits are given a bad rep, but there's no chance I'd let any dog that large near a 3 year old kid. Thing could kill him by accident.

Heck, that thing could just fart and encapsulate a 3 yo in a big enough gas cloud to asphyxiate him.

That is a big dog.

Pits and pit mixes are the most populous breed in the US by some estimates. They also are genetically powerful dogs (as are several other breeds) and have become the dog du jour of those who want a tough looking dog on their leash or sometimes guarding their drugs. They are probably also the most mistreated and abused breed of any due to these facts. Almost 1,000,000 pit bulls or mixes are euthanized each year, and many shelter euthanize as soon as they are received in the shelter.

The people that own this dog are pit bull breeders, and maybe their goal is to change conceptions regarding the breed by selectively breeding. However, I think a better plan is not breed an already over-populated breed.

Non-primate animals with under-developed neocortexes have inborne instincts to automatically fear what they don't know. It is sad to me that many humans have not evolved any further than these animals. Also, it is sad so many humans live with this irrational fear. Caution is one thing, and I totally respect that. However, the sensationalized fear of this dog in society borders on irrational.

I'm glad I don't have to pick up his mess. My 23 pound Boston can drop a deuce, couldn't imagine what Zurs would leave behind.

Sorry, I'm with UKMustangFan. The pic has been altered, no way that animal is that big. I wouldn't have an animal like that, my insurance would cancel my homeowner's policy.

I believe the dog can be that big. I am attaching a picture of Rocky, my daughter's Boxer/Rottweiler mix. He is long and lean but tips the scale around 170 himself. When he stands at the kitchen counter he can see right acroos the top. He is one the best dogs I have ever seen. He was given to my daughter when she moved away to Vet. School at Auburn. She lived nearby in a single-wide as many vet. students do. I always worried less about her and her safety knowing she had Rocky along with her on her travels. And, he is the gentlest dog in the world to our grandchildren. It is a shame that people with irrational fears cannot enjoy a dog like Rocky.
