March 3, 201511 yr 11 a.m. Obama tries to 'shoot down' the speech before it happens. Obama attacks Netanyahu's credibility ahead of speech - CNN.com
March 3, 201511 yr I'll just say that there are a few people I know in Israel who are not happy about Natanyahu's visit.
March 3, 201511 yr Take Barack Obama. He has gone from mild displeasure with Israel to downright antipathy. Suddenly we are in a surreal world where off-the-record slurs from the administration against Benjamin Netanyahu as a coward and chicken-t have gone to full-fledged attacks from John Kerry and Susan Rice, to efforts of former Obama political operatives to defeat the Israeli prime minister at the polls, to concessions to Iran and to indifference about the attacks on Jews in Paris. Who would have believed that Iranian leaders who just ordered bombing runs on a mock U.S. carrier could be treated with more deference than the prime minister of Israel? What started out six years as pressure on Israel to dismantle so-called settlements has ended up with a full-fledged vendetta against a foreign head of state.
March 3, 201511 yr Author Its hard to say what the goals of this administration are when it comes to Israel, Iran and the middle east. Was never happy that the Khaladi event and speech tape that the Obama's attended was deliberately spiked by the LA Times. And the top Presidential adviser has strong connections to the MB is troublesome.
March 3, 201511 yr The only way to stop Iran is to invade them and kill them all. Yeah, they'll really stop producing nuclear weapons because they said they would. :lol2:
March 3, 201511 yr I'll just say that there are a few people I know in Israel who are not happy about Natanyahu's visit. Why???? It seems he is doing the U.S. and world a favour by exposing Iran even more. I mean Iran wants to nuke and kill all the Jews in Israel.
March 3, 201511 yr If there is any truth to this story, I hope Netanyahu brings it to the fore front during his speech.. Report: Obama Threatened to Shoot Down Israeli Jets Attacking Iran
March 3, 201511 yr Why???? It seems he is doing the U.S. and world a favour by exposing Iran even more. I mean Iran wants to nuke and kill all the Jews in Israel. The entire thing was organized behind the back of the president and the state department and some people in Israel are furious that he allowed Israeli interests to be politicized by the Americans. Nothing has historically been more important to the security of Israel than the bipartisan support it has received in the United States. Anything that could be seen to jeopardize that is highly dangerous. It is a massive gamble on the part of Mr. Netanyahu and something his political opponents in Israel will now use against him... which is no coincidence since the elections are two weeks away and his opponents were already furious because they see this as political opportunism to try and bolster his own image back home. All politics is local... even foreign relations.
March 3, 201511 yr Israel cant help it if one of the two parties in the US seems to weakening on it's commitment to protect it own self . Its natural they would gravitate to the party that is aligns its self with the same interest . At this point it seems Bibi is being extremely courteous to Pres Obama . and the D's in a non partisan way . Which is fine by me .

At this point it seems Bibi is being extremely courteous to Pres Obama . and the D's in a non partisan way . Which is fine by me . Netanyahu speaks for Israel in the same way President Obama speaks for you. Only it's even less so since only a quarter of Israelis actually voted for Mr. Netanyahu's party. Allowing yourself to become a subject of domestic politics is not a good situation for any country and Mr. Netanyahu has quite possibly blundered badly. I could look cynically at Mr. Boehner in all this but I'm not going to; I truly believe he thinks he's doing what's best for the security of Israel and the interests of the United States. He's absolutely wrong, but I get it. I will say this: an American politician has invited a foreigner to come in and speak in a manner that will likely openly criticize the American president from the floor of the United States House of Representatives. If Mr. Boehner was the minority leader and there was a Republican president and Democratic speaker had pulled this, he'd be LIVID.
March 3, 201511 yr Author Reason for speech. Iran says nuclear deal hinges on U.S. will to lift sanctions | Reuters The administration has been in long term secret (from world, the American people and Congress) talks with Iran. From 2012: Unraveling the secret U.S.-Iran nuclear talks - The Washington Post From 2013: Secret US-Iran talks set stage for nuke deal Secret direct US-Iran talks preceded deal in Geneva - Iranian Threat - Jerusalem Post Getslow indicates the administration represents us as the people. When it comes to treaties with other countries - this representation is supposed to come with 'advice and consent' of the US Senate. Anyone recall the Senate approving a treaty with Iran in the last couple of years?
