I think Netenyahu is showing what REAL leadership is. He is taking a huge political gamble in coming here but knows that his country's survival is somewhat dependent on the US not settling on a deal to let Iran have nukes just so Obama and Kerry can say they made a deal. Let's be honest. Obama has not been a friend of Israel. The US is but Obama is not. Even if Boehner has breached some protocol and ticked Obama off, he could have been the "bigger man" and welcomed an old ally. Sadly, he did not.

Getslow indicates the administration represents us as the people. When it comes to treaties with other countries - this representation is supposed to come with 'advice and consent' of the US Senate. Anyone recall the Senate approving a treaty with Iran in the last couple of years?

Branches of government are equal. There is no law that prohibits this being done. Does the executive branch let congress know about every foreign leader they meet with before hand ? The answer is no. To act like one branch deserves greater respect than another is a mockery of our system.

I'd say what makes us weak is our current handling of Iran and if congress belives they can influence the conservation by this action then I think it's healthy for democracy.

I make no judgments on the prudence of those negotiations. I don't trust Iran or the ayatollahs and the agreement is almost certainly a poor one if those are the terms. I make judgments solely on the prudence of inviting Mr. Netanyahu to speak in this manner.
