Best athlete in the region, but the kid didn't make shots last night, it happens. This time next year, you will still be on BGP, trying to figure out why SK and Shelby County ended up in the same bracket, Dossett will be playing softball in the ACC, for FREE.

 

And what kind of criticism do think a division one athlete gets? I'll tell you. A lot more profound, a lot more biting and at times, flat out cruel. Certainly way more profound than someone expressing "disappointment" in an individual performance.

A dude took a unnecessary shot at a very accomplished athlete. End of story. No papers. No money. No articles to sell. NOTHING. Just kick someone when their down. At least papers and media get paid for this. I guess some folks do it for nothing.

Congratulations to WV. I was disappointed in GC and Dosset individually.I thought GC played like they were looking forward to softball practice!

 

You mention TRUTH after making the post above. Let's make sure that we differentiate fact from opinion. It is not fact that GC or Hannah were looking ahead to softball season. That may be your uninformed opinion. Dossett is an athlete with a competitive drive. Find me an athlete even at the professional level that doesn't have an "off" night, even in big games.

 

As scon said earlier, I would take Hannah on my team on ANY given night, including her off ones. Fantastic basketball player that I will miss seeing on the court.

That kid played her heart out all year and risked a college softball scholarship to play basketball with intensity and effort every day. One off game and you come with uninformed attacks. Sad!! Give Walton credit with a great game plan to limit her and great execution. In the All A it was the opposite. Always ugly when 2 teams know each other so well.

A couple of players that I thought played very well and made big timely shots for both teams....

 

Rodgers - Three 3's - One at the end of the first that gave Walton the lead at the buzzer.

 

Lehkamp - a freshmen that has seen limited minutes, but was composed when needed. Hit a couple of timely jumpers and 2 free throws down the stretch.

 

Sullivan for Gallatin - She carried Gallatin early in this one nailing about every open jumper she was given.

 

Also...Emma Rodgers and Lehkamp did a tremendous job limiting Dossett's clean three attempts.

Hannah Dossett is the best player in the tournament. Off night or not. THE BEST. Absolutely gives it her all every time out. If you gave her a choice she would probably say that she much rather be playing on Friday night.

It was an off shooting night for Hannah, but I prefer to give credit where credit is due.

Coach Clink and his staff had another good defensive game plan, just as they had in the other two games the teams played this season.

In all three games Hannah rarely had any easy looks. Some nights the shots don't fall. Happens at every level.

One more thing to add. 8 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 2 assists does not sound like a "going out with a whimper" to me.
