March 3, 201511 yr PARTY! Love it! Elizabethtown City Council has opened the door for by-the-drink alcohol sales, which would allow for the establishment of bars. In an ordinance approved unanimously at Monday’s council meeting, the council voted to allow 11 by-the-drink licenses for a fee of $1,000 per license. The council also enacted an unlimited number 50/50 licenses, allowing restaurants with only 50 seats to sell alcohol. Restaurants under this license must derive half its revenue from food sales. Under previous regulations, restaurants had to maintain a 70/30 food-to-alcohol ratio. The News-Enterprise : E?town approves by-the-drink alcohol sales
March 3, 201511 yr It amazes still in 2015 there are dry or semi wet counties still in KY. There are probably more than you'd think.
March 3, 201511 yr Blue=Wet Red=Dry Yellow=Moist or some other mixture Yellow counties are primarily counties with a "Wet" city in them
March 3, 201511 yr Blue=Wet Red=Dry Yellow=Moist or some other mixture Kentucky is ridiculous when it comes to this.
March 3, 201511 yr Kentucky is ridiculous when it comes to this. But not as bad/good as some other states
March 3, 201511 yr I seriously am so baffled as to the reasoning behind still dry or moist counties. I mean, is there any actually intelligent reasoning behind it? I mean, where I grew up was and still is completely dry. Every few years there will be a discussion and there's always the "but thatta means that they issa gonna serve whiskey and abortions to our kids! Do you want our kids to die? How could you want our children to die instantly as soon as this measure is passed!" And I never really knew anyone who allowed for it being a dry country to stop them from drinking or having alcohol. It just meant they had to drive 30 minutes away to get something 2 counties over. I mean, is there seriously anyone who can give me an actual explanation as to why some people are against this?

He could give you plenty of explanations, not saying any of them would be backed by logic but plenty of reasons.
March 3, 201511 yr Kentucky is ridiculous when it comes to this. Surprised by the number of Northern states that have some limitations. I also thought Utah would have some. Surprising how some bible belt states have numerous counties and others none.

March 3, 201511 yr Kentucky is ridiculous when it comes to this. Worse than you think........ Ky is also one of the only states that will not allow wine to be sold in grocery stores. All political. Grocery stores have to have a separate entrance to the store that sells wine and liquor. You can buy liquor in Walgreens/CVS, but not if the store has more than a certain percentage of sales categorized as supermarkets. Isn't even being allowed to be brought to a vote, because one of the sponsors of the bill, didn't support the legalization of gambling.......which is a whole other issue in which Ky missed the boat !
March 3, 201511 yr Bootleggers!!! How are the bootleggers going to make an honest living if they do away with dry counties????
