9th Region Top 10 Teams

 

1. Highlands (lost 2 starters) Has quality replacements.

2. Notre Dame (lost 6 starters) Haylee Smith, nuff said.

3. Conner (lost 4 starters) Still got Biz, her 6th starting varsity season.

4. Boone Co. (lost 3 starters) Don't pass the eye test, but get it done.

5. NewCath (lost 2 starters) Timely hitting (or lack thereof) is, has, & will be the difference maker.

6. Dixie (lost 1 starter) Love Roddy's style and his staff, his kids work hard.

7. St. Henry (lost 1 starter) last year's "walking wounded", can they stay healthy in 2015?

8. Ryle (lost 4 starters) How to you replace Crupper and Steinle?

9. Newport (lost 1 starter) The Katlyn Hoeh train leaves Newport after this year, then what?

10. Lloyd (lost 1 starter) it could be now or never with 8 Sr.'s gone after this year.

Jenna Hicks (Conner - second and short) has to be one of the top players in the region. Has good skills both hitting and fielding

Hard to believe that Lawnboy left Quillen of the list!

An easy argument could be made that she's the overall best of the birds.

 

As tall as LB is and short as Whit is, I can see how he could "overlook" her.

It is VERY tough to just pick 10, trust me Jenna, Whitney, & a whole host of others were in consideration. If I did the Top 20, they are EASILY on the list.

Yep LB13.... Thanks for the dugout material. Snubbed Whit and ninth Region tourney MVP. But hey I'm all for it. Last time she was snubbed she took her BA from 258 first half to 550+. Those two lit it up in the second half. We will put your post up right next to our All A T shirt!!! Especially when we play a certain district foe!!!

Guess you don't look at the history of this player, read the papers, or are in the know when it comes to competitive summer ball, in the who's who. Who else committed D1 as a Soph? Or any D1 at that? If so, what's their impact when they go in as a fresh? This is just another thread to say nothing about nothing, from someone that wants to be heard. I'll start another thread to be heard and get everyone geeked up for no reason...."Reasons why a catholic school will not win the 9th region tourney". Hmmmm?? Who wants to give input on that one?

The fact that you have player rating is bias and no need for it. Whether you think it or not, you know a list like this gets put in the heads of the coaches who vote for these players. Some players had amazing 2nd half of the seasons, yet votes were already in, so some didn't even get recognized. It's all about the hype of a player, when they do great, makes you look like you know what your talking about, but if season goes bad, oh well, just bad luck this year. Give opinions about facts, actual stats and make your argument, not what you think. It's a position sport, do it that way.

Thank you, which means this thread is, and no need for it. The team listings are generalizations of who won it last year, who played in the region, who returns, etc. But players? Leave that alone until the end of the season. All it does is gets people's emotions geeked up and feelings hurt, especially the kids/girls who read this. You don't think players and parents of those players who didn't make this list are saying WTH? Season hasn't already started and were already crowning who's the best......
