About to go off on the fact you don't have Graybill #1 ?!?! Seriously? Guess you don't look at the history of this player, read the papers, or are in the know when it comes to competitive summer ball, in the who's who. Who else committed D1 as a Soph? Or any D1 at that? If so, what's their impact when they go in as a fresh? This is just another thread to say nothing about nothing, from someone that wants to be heard. You are right as always UK... I think she had 3 or 4 strike outs for the season... That was WAY too many? Just a little sarcasism with that.... She had at least 3 times as many home runs as Ks...

 

My opinion, which means nothing btw, is that there are two players at the top of the heap and then all the rest.... Graybill and Haley (sp) Smith... Either could be number 1. Both play for programs that have extremely tough schedules and still post awesome numbers... Best wishes to all the ladies this season.... If the snow ever leaves that is...

Then neither of you know the comments I've made on other threads, if you actually have constructive critisiusum, then say it to me, but don't insult my intelligence with what you think is best for me, or my feelings being hurt. I've stood by my comments thick and thin, if you have an opinion about a player, better back it up with stats, because you are talking about them. As much as you guys like to dish it out, be careful, you might be saying it about the wrong kid. Your feelings or mine I could care less about as well, but those girls don't need to see it, or hear it from over zelious BGPers.

You do know that this "list" is merely an old broken down athletes opinion on who he thinks is the best? I would remind little Betty not to get all upset if she reads this stuff since it is not an official list of rankings etc...But then again, if it is all about the girl reading it and not the team than most likely the team is not going to fair very well this yr

So you have Snapp as the top player in the 9th region in boys basketball? Has the highest scoring average if I recall. If you watch games you can offer an opinion. I doubt there are many that watch more softball games than LB. I might not agree with his rankings but I DO KNOW they're from an intelligent point of view and not just "stats."

 

We rank players as players - not as human beings. No one is getting insulted ESPECIALLY a kid who is ranked #3 in the whole region.

 

You keep moving the line. I can't tell exactly what you're bothered by. You go from "too early" to "stats" to worrying about a kid who might be offended.

This thread is comical, and further proves why those with thin skin and who wear their feelings on their sleeves are generally advised to stay out of message boards where OPINIONS are stated (like mine ... see what I did there?! :sneaky:).

 

High school fast-pitch softball (and baseball, for that matter), is largely about the quality of pitching. If you have a stud in the circle, you can effectively put 7 folding chairs in the field and be a winning team. Probably why Ms. Smith was listed first.

 

I don't think LB was discounting any player, nor ranking which players will compete collegiately. Best of luck to all teams and their players (especially the seniors). It's over in the blink of the eye.
