Bunbury Music Festival June 2015 - Cincinnati

Featured Replies

I feel old and un-hip.

I remember driving with the Ramones, Elvis Costello, The Sex Pistols, The Specials, etc., blasting from my radio and feeling cutting edge. Other than Snoop, I do not recognize one band on the Bunbury schedule.

Old Crowe Medicine Show originally sang "Wagon Wheel", so you've probably heard at least one of their songs.

My oldest son went last night and said it was really good. Said the Black Keys were outstanding.

I am going to try to see me some Old Crow Medicine Show this evening, if I get out of work on time.

Count me in as one of the really old guys. I've only heard of The Black Keys and Snoop Dog. I hear it's an impressive music festival though. For those BGPers that are going, have a good time.

I thought this happened in July?

It used to. The original promoters scheduled it on the same weekend as Forecastle and after refusing Forecastle's request to choose a different weekend seeing as they were so geographically close to one another, they ended up in what was reportedly quite an adversarial relationship with one another.

Bunbury was sold to PromoWest, who operates several venues up in Columbus (they do a great job, for what it's worth)...and the absolute first move they made with Bunbury was switch the festival dates away from Forecastle's weekend.

I'm headed there tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing Twenty One Pilots and Atmosphere. Wish I could have gone Friday to see Walk the Moon and The Black Keys.

Consider me a square as well. Wouldn't go see any of those acts if they were in the neighbors back yard, maybe Kacey Musgraves, saw her open for Kenny Chesney a couple of years back, real nice.

TAC and 5 other old folks cruised the Ohio today and listened to a few tunes. Between the 6 of us we knew 3 performers. Not my cup of tea, I'm OK being called square. Crowd was solid and much louder than the pathetic crowd at the Reds game.
