February 23, 201511 yr Joe Danneman @fox19Joe Skip Schumaker on Mat Latos: "I think it was an addition by subtraction...I think a lot of us will be happy to see him in Miami." fox19 And Latos will mow the order down like LRCW on a chicken wing.
February 23, 201511 yr Marlon Byrd just mic dropped Latos....Byrd meet the Reds, Reds meet your new "clubhouse leader".
February 23, 201511 yr Mark Sheldon @m_sheldon 5 minutes ago Re: Latos: Bailey countered "If this was a court of law, the cross examination would go after the credibility of the witness." John Fay @johnfayman 12 minutes ago Homer Bailey says he was never rushed back from injury, has the highest regard for the #Reds training staff. Homer doesn't need to respond. He needs to worry about learning how to pitch.
February 23, 201511 yr Homer doesn't need to respond. He needs to worry about learning how to pitch. Yeah, you're right. Homer sucks. Any scrub can throw 2 no-hitters and command over $100M...
February 23, 201511 yr Marlon Byrd just mic dropped Latos....Byrd meet the Reds, Reds meet your new "clubhouse leader". Fact
February 23, 201511 yr Yeah, you're right. Homer sucks. Any scrub can throw 2 no-hitters and command over $100M... He's not worth 1/3 of that contract. That was a waste of money. Yes he has thrown 2 No-No's but he is nothing more than an overpaid #3 starter.
February 23, 201511 yr He's not worth 1/3 of that contract. That was a waste of money. Yes he has thrown 2 No-No's but he is nothing more than an overpaid #3 starter. That at least half the league would've lined up to pay as much or more than the Reds did, had he hit the open market.
February 23, 201511 yr What has he done, aside 2 no hitters, to prove he's worth that? His numbers surely don't say it.
February 23, 201511 yr What has he done, aside 2 no hitters, to prove he's worth that? His numbers surely don't say it. Yes, actually they do.
February 23, 201511 yr Author What has he done, aside 2 no hitters, to prove he's worth that? His numbers surely don't say it. He's paid based on potential. When he's on he could be a borderline number 1, but when he struggles it's for a prolonged time. Basically he's like Jay Bruce in his streaks. If he could ever find his consistency he's worth every cent of that contract, but that remains to be seen. I never liked the deal, but it still could be one that turns out to be good.
February 23, 201511 yr What has he done, aside 2 no hitters, to prove he's worth that? His numbers surely don't say it. How about a 1 hitter in the playoffs? Is that good?
February 23, 201511 yr Since Latos has better career numbers it will be interesting to see where his next contract ends up vs Bailey's. I suspect this hasn't helped his case.
February 23, 201511 yr Since Latos has better career numbers it will be interesting to see where his next contract ends up vs Bailey's. I suspect this hasn't helped his case. Latos almost assuredly will be paid at the same level, most likely more, than Homer. Barring another shortened season of course.
February 23, 201511 yr I have no problem with things he said in the interview. But they were digs, subtle, but digs. So he has what he has coming. Love Marlon Byrd's response, love Homer's response, love Sam's response and love Skip's response. Lato sounds like a jackwagon of a person.
