Well, when you only have a half hour at 11:30am on Fridays, I can't be searching for those five star establishments. I'm kind of limited. Even the church fish frys aren't open then.

For someone that enjoys potted meat sandwiches occasionally, as well as fried spam. I would say mine and your palets(is that how you spell it?) for fish are different as well. The ONLY fish I eat, except for the occasional splurge on orange roughy at Krogers is the fast food fish sandwich:lol2:

February 21, 201511 yr Seafood in general is something that I've always had trouble with. I wish that it wasn't that way with me, but for the most part it has always made me squeamish. I've managed over the years to give this and that a try, and typically about the only thing that I can stomach is heavily breaded deep-fried pure white fish. If I see any dark spots, it makes me gag. It's not really the fish that I like, but the breading. At times I can enjoy a plate of fish n' chips, but again it's typically because the breading and tartar sauce has disguised the flavor of the fish. Because I get next to zero fish in my diet, I take fish oil supplements to reap the benefits.
February 21, 201511 yr Loyal Cafe in Bellevue had an amazing banquet fish. Not even sure if they are open anymore. A Friday Lent tradition when I was a kid, many many moons ago.

February 21, 201511 yr No thanks. :puke: A big pot of my dad's crab soup always hit the spot. Much like veggie soup, but you substitute live hard crabs for whatever meat you would have used. Gotta be careful with them, though. Grab them by the backfin, tear off the claws, peel off the apron and scoop out the gills, then beak the (still live) bodies in half. Toss them in the pot.

I was about to mention to him that he may give shellfish a try, probably not raw oysters though lol. I like all seafood, raw oysters included, never had raw clams. I've found that a lot of people that don't like fish, still love shellfish. It's hard to find someone that doesn't like crab or lobster, even if they won't eat grouper.

I pretty much was raised on Chesapeake Bay seafood. Blue crabs, clams, oysters and that true delicacy - soft-shell crabs. Best sandwich in the world is a BLT with a deep-fried soft crab on it.
