Reducing The shot clock will only hurt offense more. If they don't clean up the hand checking and awful charging rules/calls the rest is slapping lipstick on a pig...

I think there is something to be said for the demoralizing effect on the offense of 35 seconds of stifling defense, time and time again.

Do away with the shot clock and 3 point line. Offenses seem to do just fine before they were instituted.

Good point, but I'm not convinced they'll ever really do that. Were supposed to clean up both in recent years and IMO failed. You are right though, if the clock is shortened they will have to do something form the offense or games could be uglier than they are now.

I'd like to see a shorter clock, but those issues would have to be addressed.

The coaches don't want it cleaned up, so it isn't going to change. The freedom of movement stuff lasted until conference play last year and went right back to how it was. I have given up hope on the charge calls. It needs to be removed from the game the way it is called now...

I disagree!

Agreed, plenty of terrible offense is ran as it is now. Fix that stuff first.

You can't really run offense as is. Press to run the clock to 25 and then grab and hold until the clock goes under 10. That is the state of the game under the current rules...

I'd like to see them knock it down to 30. Never really understood why the women's game was one thing and the men's another. Most teams don't really run their set until 10-15 second are left, so just get rid of at least 5 seconds and make it happen quicker.

Agree with this, and reduce shot clock to 30 seconds.
