The cause is an uptick in fraudulent filings, which TurboTax is now investigating with security company Palantir. It was one of first tax preparation software packages ever produced and the first to provide an online service. Primarily though, Turbo Tax has been integrated with the most popular small business accounting software package, Quickbooks, since it's inception. Both are Intuit products.
