You guys are a tough audience. You can see all of these story lines coming to a head and the aftermath of them will open the next season. Stanis will be invading Winterfell w/ the winner announced the next season w/ Littlefinger doing what he can to destroy his army. Tyrion will meet Dani in the last episode. No idea what is happening w/ Jamie. I imagine that we'll see the white walkers in 2 episodes as John races to save the wildlings. The last 3 episodes will be adventure packed. the next episode will be more along the lines of the last couple, just getting the last pieces in place before attacking.

I don't think it's too much to ask that POV characters from the books are actually in the show. That's my biggest complaint. No Arianne Martell, no Victarion or Euron Greyjoy, no Young Griff.

I'm really not liking what they are doing with Sansa. I'll try not to spoil anything for those who haven't read the books but in the books despite all that she's been through Sansa has remained a caring and loving character. After what happened to her last night I'm afraid they are going to totally change that.

Last scene of the night made me feel terrible. Only upsides were that it was well acted and tame compared to what happens in the books.

 

As a book reader I find I enjoy the show a lot more when I just think of it on its own, then it is fine. Except for the Dornish scenes, they are just plain terrible.

Had a friend tell me Ramsay is getting to a Joffery level with him. Tired of Tommen being a little girl king as well. Joffery would have crushed those guys taking his queen away. Queen of Thorns going to lay down the law on Cersei soon is my guess.

I've read some "fan" reactions that have just made me laugh. I understand the scene was disturbing and horrible, but that is what is supposed to happen after a wedding in this show's era (not forcibly of course, but she did not say no or resist at all because she was playing her part in the Game of Thrones). I just find it absolutely hilarious that 5 1/2 seasons into this show of moral ambiguity, repent casual sex, incest, war, betrayal, etc., that this is the scene that has pushed people over the edge? I mean are you kidding me?

 

I have already stated that I didn't like the scene, but I get what I expect from this show on a regular basis. If you have been watching the entire series and now have a problem with them going too far, I just have to ask why not when Dany and Khal got married? Or several other scenes that are just as bad if not worse. Just seems like an odd time to be so disgusted by a scene when you should know something like this is very possible every single episode.

I can't believe more people are upset over this scene then they were the incest scene with Jamie doing Sersei.

 

Arranged marriages are everywhere in this show, and many unwilling wives with it. They just never let you know it till now.

I don't disagree, I especially think that the Senator from Missouri saying she won't watch again is way over the top. I'm not going to quit watching over it, didn't even cross my mind. I do think that the big reason reaction was so negative about it was because it didn't happen in the book (Dany and Drogo did) and because Sansa was a likable character, Cersi not so much.

 

I also wonder how many people were like me, I knew it was probably going to happen I just kept thinking that something might happen to prevent it.

I just don't like what they are doing. The show passing the books is one thing. The show is NOT at the point where they have to pass the books yet. Why they are totally altering several story lines and leaving out major POV characters is beyond me.

 

I thought the rape scene was unnecessary. I realize that it's probably to add emotional weight to when I'm assuming Theon rescues Sansa, but that was needed? The Bolton's killed Sansa's family and tortured Theon relentlessly. I feel it's safe to say they weren't going to be sending the Bolton's Christmas cards anytime soon.

People forget Sansa is the catalyst for her own mess. Her desire to be queen to Joffrey made her tell Cersei about Ned's plans to out Cersei and Jaime.

 

Isn't it ironic how some see the treatment Theon gets as justice and what Sansa gets as too far.

 

I like where the plot is going with her though in opposition to the books where she is just in the Vale hanging with Lil arryn. Maybe the actions of Ramsey will kick in a fight instinct in Sansa and Theon and they both will redeem themselves.
