This is by far the most exciting, fun, nail-biteing game I've ever witnessed. So proud of these girls. And to be their internet voice just makes it even better because I get the oppertunity to showcase these athletes night in and night out.

 

They played inspired basketball in the second half and OT. They really wanted this win for thier team mate Kennedy Carl who was at home nursing a broken leg that she suffered in the freshman game the night before. She tweeted me throughout the the game to let me know she was listening and was really pulling for her team to come back and get the W. Just melts my heart to watch these girls after all they have been through over the last week and a half.

 

To East Ridge credit they played a very good game and led by as many as 12 in the second half. They have a nice team and three girls averaging in double figures for the season. I would not be surprised to see them make a lot of noise in the 15th region on e tournament time rolls around.

If you judge by common opponents, and these 2 teams have 2 common opponents, Gallatin would seem to be a very slight favorite.

 

Gallatin beat Williamstown twice, by 1 point & 3 points; Bracken lost to Williamstown by 4.

Gallatin lost to Campbell County by 6; Bracken lost to Campbell County by 14.

Bracken girls have come a long way in a short time this season. Congrats!:thumb:

 

I have to admit, with the number of girls they lost from last year, I didn't expect this kind of success, even with Cummins.

Quality, younger players have a greater effect on girls basketball than any other sport (with the possible exception of Xcountry or track).

Bracken's loss to Scott, by 22, appears to be their worst loss (in terms of margin) all year.

The loss to Campbell was early in the season as this team was still finding its identity. And the loss to Scott was a flat out bad game for Bracken. Credit Scott for that. They were hitting the shots and the final score will reflect that. The Williamstown loss I will chalk that to All A region Championship hangover. Williamstown had a gameplan and applied it with positive results. We were flat outta of the gate and never really got it going.

 

We are a different team now and id put our girls up against anybody in the 10th region and think we have a fighting chance. :thumb:
