If that is true, then that's a "major" problem. Sorry but that can't happen if you want to be successful. A kid missing a "spring practice" for an in season sport means absolutely nothing in terms of development. Those coaches aren't that good!

With Coach Wirth specifically? I'm not sure. With at least one coach? Absolutely yes. I know of a specific incident where a football player caught a bunch of flack from one of his offensive line coaches for missing a spring practice for a Track meet. In fact, the next day, the football player wasn't allowed to participate in football practice, because "he didn't want to be here."

 

That's the only incident that I know about though.

That's what I meant, that the entire old staff would not be invited back. Didn't it leak out that coach R was applying to Moe? Maybe the leak is on the staff. I won't say which school, but at least one I know of had a decent coach, but at least a few staff members were talking behind the head coaches back, and even after they HC left, some continued to talk smack. When you leave your "circle of trust" must be tight and few. Now, I don't know all of the staff of the football team so I don't know. Bit someone has been leaking info out for a long time. JMO.

 

As with any school I just hope they find the right coach, who won't use CCH as a stepping stone and move on in a few years, and a coach who the kids at CCH gets along with and wants to play for. Any young Gerry Faust's out there? BTW, I looked him up, hard to believe that he is a few months away from being 80.

Now makes sense when I go back and read post. Had no idea there was a Senior and Junior.

This has been covered in other threads. When the head coach goes, so do the assistants. Now whether none, some, all of those assistants come back is up to the new head coach- and obviously dependent on whether they want to come back or not.

 

The football team has continued its off season training at school with the oversight of school admins. After this week the team will attend ASAP until the new staff is on board and training can resume at school.

Personally, if I'm applying for a new head coach position and the Administration compels me to keep some or all of the staff, I'm bowing out of that deal. Not a fair position to put a new Head Coach into IMO.

And that is what happens at many schools. A new HC is more less told that these people here or these people over there have been around for years and it would be a good idea to keep them. If the HC feels, on his own, that one or two people should come back, then fine. But anymore than that one or two is not "cleaning house".

Even if said coach staffing sired 1/4 of your team?? JUST KIDDING! (mostly)
