Where should they be ranked? Like PRP they started off the season with a good ranking and their rankings after the preseason ranking have shown them fall from #3 to where they are at now.

 

I think it's fair to say they are a top 20 team, but the top 10 is too high. Don't appear to have enough kids who can score the basketball to beat other top teams (see my point about playing 4-on-5 on offense). Still, enough talent in their top 4 to carry the load against most teams.

 

Just me, but if you put a gun to my head and tell me to rank everyone as they stand now, then I like the following, and break them into tiers as such:

3. Trinity

4. Knott County Central

5. Taylor County

 

6. Manual

Well, when they think you are wrong I should say. We're not as stupid as people want to think though.

Of course people are going to say "I told you so..." when it came to PRP because people have been questioning it for weeks and got resistance on it when they did.

First week of February as in their second post-Christmas game against a winning team with a winning record first week of February, or like a different week in February?

 

Sorry if wins over 9-12 Holy Cross, 1-18 Thomas Nelson, 5-15 Butler, or 10-11 Southern aren't moving my needle. Mayberry is great, one of the best in the State, so I'm sure he knows how to schedule according to what he has. Great team last year-- plenty of top games. This year-- I'll let you be the Judge. I'm just the guy that's been saying they aren't top 10 for weeks before this.

To expound on a point that I made earlier, I don't think NCC is the #8 team in the State. I think that they are a really good team, but I really wonder about their ceiling given that yesterday, it looked as if they play a few kids who are outright dared to take open shots but still pass them up. Against the other top teams, you can't afford to play 4 on 5 offensively, and I think that NCC is often doing that.

 

I believe this happened when they were passing to kill clock, as well as, find the open man on cuts. Because during that stretch in the 4th quarter NONE of their shots were falling (the same one's that fell in the 1st 3 quarters). If you check the update thread from that game I mentioned when Grant Moeves took one of those open shots, and missed, Coach Dawn was NOT happy. They had 4pt. lead with 1:16 remaining why take a shot when you don't need to?

Station with Carson is a better team. They are also still adjusting to a new Head Coach, and have probably gotten a bit better since Christmas. I see the BGP polls showing love to Manual. I see Station beating a red-hot Dunbar at Dunbar by 9 on Friday. I also see Dunbar going and beating Manual the very next night. I'm a big fan of Sutton. One of the best players in the State. D1 talent. Stats tell me that against Manual, Dunbar's Hollingsworth dropped 40 and Williams, who Sutton checked most of the night, 30. Station held Hollingsworth to 9 and Williams to 16.
