Final from update thread.

Great win lady Eagles !! Sounds like it was a good game !! Sorry I missed

this one ..... Keep it up !! We are still sliding under everyone's radar ! Not always a bad place to be !!!

Sounds like a great game! Nice win for the Eagles!

As I said earlier this would be a great game and it trully lived up to the billing.

Game started off back and forth as each team seemed to be feeling each other out. Scott eventually secured the lead by a couple and was able to stretch it slightly by the end of the 1st 20-15. 2nd saw more back and forth action. Scott's press was stifling at times forcing long passes and multiple turnovers. However, Campbell stayed in it through rebounding effort and hitting just about every throw they attempted. 1st half ended with Scott stretching its lead to 35-27.

Second half saw more "accordianing" of the score as Scott was able to stretch it to as much as 11, only to have the Lady Camels battle back each time.

With time winding down Scott saw their lead shrinking as they got hit with 3 back to back "And 1" calls closing the gap to 2. After a quick foul and a couple of missed free throws, Campbell got the ball back with 6 seconds on the clock. Ball comes in, passed around to the open 3point shooter who let's it fly only to have #42 Kallmeyer from Scott come from nowhere and block the shot. Trempe recovers the block and time expires.

Scott has defeated Brossart, and Brossart defeated Campbell County. A Campbell County win would have thrown the 37th District seeding race into a three-way tiie. Scott always wins the coin tosses, so by nosing out the Lady Camels they simply side-stepped the extra step in the process.

Congrats to the Lady Eagles - 37th District Top Seed.

This sets up a rematch between Brossart and Campbell County in the 37th District semi-finals with one of those two teams meeting Scott (no disrespect to Calvary - just stating a fact) for the District title with both advancing to the 10th Region Tournament.

Congrats lady eagles on the win. Camels lose 2 district games by a total of 3 points, tough pill to swallow. Can't wait for the districts. We aren't very deep so I knew the lady Camels were in trouble tonight when I heard the whistle blown more than sneaker squeaks. I've seen a lot of basketball over the years and I believe that was the worst crew I have ever seen. 20+ fouls called in the 1st half and had to be over 50 for the game. Scott in the double bonus at 4:47 mark in the 2nd quarter. 3 Camel starters sat 2nd quarter because of fouls and Scott had I believe 2 that were sitting from foul trouble. Bad both ways and just down right awful. Camels defense was absent tonight. This hasn't been the same defensive team I saw in the beginning of the year when every girl was fighting for a spot. Defense is all heart and determination and you play it with your feet not your hands. Better start playing both ends of the floor and adapting to the way officials are calling the game. Ok I am done venting.... Great basketball atmosphere tonight with a great crowd, nail biting game and proceeds going to the cystic fibrosis foundation. To the young lady with CF who gave a heart felt speech at halftime that brought tears to many eyes, you are a very strong and courageous young lady. Keep fighting.

Congrats to the Lady Eagles! I can't wait to see that CC/Brossart matchup.

Great game by two similar playing styles. CC coach needs to learn to adapt to the way officials are calling the game. Death stares and constant shouting after calls isn't going to get you any favours. Three very competitive teams in this district. Tournament time should feature some great games in Atown.

Great 2nd post! Agree on all counts.

As I recall coach Kleete was shouting, throwing her arms up and giving the death stare. Both fan bases were not pleased with the officiating and expressed their displeasure. The kids need to adapt to the way refs are calling the game, and neither coach got T'd up last night (How this happened is beyond me) I'm not one to complain about refs but last night was just flat out horrible. I got to the point where I had to laugh about it. When they called a foul late in the 4th and it was the girls 5th foul and the horn goes off for her 5th foul

and he holds up 5 fingers to the coach. Coach puts a sub in and then ref decides that the foul wasn't on the girl he called it on and gives it to another one without asking for any help and the girl that fouled out is allowed to renter the game. I'd take the 3 officials we had against Nicholas county any day of the week and twice on Sunday. They let the girls play a physical game and were in control and never let it get out of hand.

Officials do not win/lose games teams do. Have seen multiple CC games. Great teams play better than the refs ref. Like it or not you have the same 10th region officials for the majority of the year. You can't get caught up in officials, good or bad.

Read through everyone of my posts, nowhere in any of my posts did I say the officials cost us the game. If the Camels play a bad game I say so and I said that their defense was absent last night. Like it or not if the officials are bad I will say so. Many of my Eagle friends said the same last night. We hold the kids and coaches accountable when they play/coach bad why not the refs? And just for the record I've seen every one of the Camels games and I'm fine with the 10th region officials except the ones I saw for the first time last night.

You really need to re-read I4C's posts.

If the officials are good officials, then they should not let a loud coach deter them from calling a fair game. If I am loud and obnoxious, my team should get a fair shake anyway. "Favors" or "given calls" should not exist with a good officiating crew.
