Coach Jeff Griffith is out at Boone

OC new coach is up in the air. Can't say anything after 1 year. North coach has done a great job building a program and maintaining it year in and year out. South coach has also done a great job building a program from the ashes to a team that wins.

Following along:

Oldham County: 1st year coach, team had bad year, not enough info to judge - where was this coach before Oldham County?

North Oldham: coach has done a great job building a program and maintaining it year in and year out - I'm also had someone tell me he and the Principal are not pals

South Oldham: coach has also done a great job building a program from the ashes to a team that wins

Is it lack of admin support or does the principal feel that the coach has too much power? I dont know them, so I have no idea.

I don't think any of the HC's in OC are really interested in leaving their current positions for Boone County. It's always fun to hear what people on the message boards think though... Some are in the know, others pretend to be in the know, but all are equally entertaining. It's kinda like that Brad Paisley song...

Any word on the process so far? Who has applied? Have they began interviewing yet?

You forgot it's also fun to see the players in the game attempt to manipulate the process on message boards.

I had the pleasure to play for coach Griff his first two years at BG. In that time he played a significant role in taking a 5-6 squad to 11-1. He WAS a player's coach in the sense that he cared for his players on more than an athletic level. He expected nothing less than your best on and off the field. I watched him take some of the worst attitudes and help them become successful teammates and students. When I look back on my elementary, middle school, and high school football, basketball, and baseball time he is the coach that stands out the most. My brother also played for him and will say the same thing. I cannot speak for his time at Boone but that man has my and many other Purple's faith in his coaching ability for what its worth.

Coach Griff is an awesome guy. Hopefully nothing here at BGP has anyone thinking anything different.

I doubt he would go back to Boone. Turner is loved by Lloyd high school and the Erlanger community. He is building a solid program which is aided by a tremendous feeder program at Tichenor middle school. Keeping the talent in the district is always a challenge. From what I here he's got almost 70 kids for the 2015 team. The 2014 team had around 53, and like 46 in 2013. Kids absolutely love playing for this coach.

I agree,, Coach Griff is a class act. I wish him well with his new coaching opportunity at Barren County.
