January 9, 201511 yr Very stupid thing to do. I enjoy a good workplace joke as much as the next guy, but this was just beyond good sense. If you work in that environment, and understand the process, how can you not foresee something like that making it into the print version? Those jobs should never be a place to prank with words. The newspaper had no choice but to act harshly and swiftly.

January 9, 201511 yr Not sure if they would have any pension... One had been there less than a year, the other one only six years. If the paper even has a pension. Only 10% of private sector jobs have them and in the private sector normal vesting period is 5 years. If vested the small amount they would be entitled to could not be stripped.
