Correct IF the ball is on the rim or in the cylinder at the time the net is grabbed.

Ball seemed off the rim. The shot was clearly going to be a missed shot.

:sarcastic: Interesting statements. I strongly suspect any team that has a highly successful season does very well at home (as well as on the road). So are either or both of you suggesting that WC gets more breaks at their place than everybody else gets at their place (in region or out)?

First I have to say that any team who plays out of region goes to the other team's gym knowing that the officials are graded by the home team's coach and not by their coach. You EXPECT that it is highly unlikely you'll get a 50/50 called game. Human nature dictates otherwise.

And if you feel WC gets more than their share of breaks, then how come over the past 21 seasons during which time Wayne County has won eight Regional Titles (NONE of which were played at WC in '94, '95, '97, '02, '04, '11, '13 & '14) and gone 24-0 on other regional teams' floors to win those titles . . . AND remember, all regional games are called by out of region officials?

Sure sounds an awfully lot like sour grapes to me.

Not by me. My meaning airmailed you obviously.
There's no question that Boyle is better than West. I'm assuming that Purple Pride was being flip with his comment. As a 12th region follower, most have said that West is down this year. My point in making that comment was that maybe West isn't being given enough credit.

Clay has a nice team. Really nice. Better than Boyle? I would be surprised.

Of course I was being flip. You're quick to say "on any given" night. I think that was "any given night". At best West Jessamine is #6 right behind Mercer County. Last night's "Boyle County/Clay County" game has nothing to do with how the 12th Region stacks up against each other.

Sure is good to see you post Ole Kentuckian. I usually get on BGP every night and get my daily laugh and had not seen you post for awhile. I am heart broken right now knowing Truth99 hates Wayne Co. I would never have guessed that. He mentioned last night how he felt he was at Wayne Co with the calls Clay Co was getting at Boyle. Teach those guys to play defense with their feet and likely you will not see such a difference in fouls. You will be able to get your revenge Truth99 when we come to your place this year. Hope we have some decent referrees.

You don't need to worry about clay playing defense since Wayne is allowing more points than clay. Teach them boys how to play. I just hope we give you all the same treatment the refs gave us last year.

If by chance( slim chance by alot of posters in here) that Wayne County were to 3 peat( who else has done that) the 12th region this year I will say that there will be all sorts of events happening that night on Bluegrass Preps. There will be people jumping off cliffs screaming, others will just be on suicide watch, many references of bad refs and home cooking. The 13th region homers will follow suit and claim foul play. There will be no references of recruiting though. :sssh:

If Wayne County loses, they will say we got beat. Now get back to work for next year. Thats why they have the banners to prove what it takes to be a winner. Nobody can dispute that.

The stats for the WJ-Clay game don't appear to be very different from WJ's stats for the season. FG percentage was comparable and they shot 66% from the line. They made 2 more threes than their seasonal average. West did out rebound them 40-24. As for Clay, they shot a little higher FG and FT% vs WJ than they did against Boyle. Point being that nothing points to anything out of the ordinary for either team - other than Farmer not playing. Not an "any given night" performance.

As I said, I wasn't implying that WJ is better than Boyle. Or SW or Lincoln or Wayne. My point was that perhaps West is better than they are being given credit for. The results of the Boyle-Clay game only served to add merit to the fact that was a quality win by West - even though Farmer didn't play. Especially when you realize they didn't do it by hitting 15 threes.

If you don't think Clay is a 10 to 12 point better team with Farmer playing you obviously haven't seen him play. He's instant offense and rebounds the heck out of the ball. No one will ever know if it would have made a difference because it is what it is. But I can promise you that they are a different and better team with him on the floor. Do you think your team is the same team missing a player of his caliber.

You need to go back and watch the tape of that game again Truth, your guys never came to play a basketball game. They thought football season was still going on. I grant you if the refs let the game be played that way over there then you will win, i have no doubt. Our kids does not like doing pushups in practice, by committing grabbing and pushing fouls so they learn to play defense with their feet a long time ago.

The refs at rupp didn't seem to mind our football style defense. Only place that did was Wayne.

What kind of banners do they have. I didn't recall a state championship banner hanging last time I was there.

Football style defense for Basketball??

Doesnt clay county need to learn how to play football first before they teach football defense for basketball?

Ohh nvm.. my bad. thats for a different story :p

None that a hater can see.....and this isn't the 80's for Clay either. Bobby nor Richie isn't walking through the door. I watched the game last year at Wayne and Clay has a nice team. Didnt see the hosing that you must have felt like you all got, but good luck in your season. I feel you are probably the best team in the 13th region.

So you're saying West Jessamine should be the #5 team in the 12th? I'm really confused now. I figured Mercer County was at worst 5th in the 12th Region but if you insist on West Jessamine being better than what people are giving them credit for being then I don't have a problem putting them at 5th even though they lost to Mercer County head to head once already.

You are spot on.
